One moves patient, unrushed in thick snow. Crusted in some places where the sun had a chance to glaze the surface. Enough so as to make walking almost burdensome. The sunshine I spent hunting my trapline past the oaks. No sign of game. The three trap line bunnies in my stuff sack were my first concern when I came across the rather large looking cat tracks traveling ahead of me up the path I was on.
Looks like two, large cats, so, I'm enjoying the twilight allowing them a respectful space. Having crested the hill and laid eyes on my cabin with all its quaint little pleasures. I must have been enthralled with all the starry nights and wispy magical looking moonbeams traversing perfectly still air, and now so was I. crisp and cold the gentle snowfall twinkled everywhere delicate chimes from a crystal frozen time. Every step I took tossed an avalanche of the little unique notes that now sounded like gongs in my head when I realized the cats I now fallowed were also being followed by an exceptionally large bear.
While scanning the forest down the valley, movement across the ravine caught my attention and I watched two large cats move opposite to the spring in the east. Long i waited for the bear to emerge. The hulking bear looked up and met the man's gaze.
I left my faithful companion with gratitude and continued my trek into the eastern moonlight padding over my girls precious tracks.
