"Where are you little elf?"

"He did it, I'm sure of it!"

I'm lost in the story, searching for suspense and adventure.

"He killed her, you know he did!"I say to myself, my heart beating faster. Stories can do this. They take you into a world of magic, suspense, and thrilling and horrific adventures.

I don't hear the door when my husband walks in and greets me,

"Hello!"

I turn the page, curious to find out what happens next. I'm lost in a faraway world, another reality; an escape from life.

"Sorry!" I mutter.

I turn the page; lost again.
