you can refer to me as Mission Specialist Townsley. This all started with earth's first mission to Proxima Centauri b(to see if it's truly inhabitable). Everything was fine after a turbulent landing on the planet, for the first 2 days. After testing caused a small cave-in on the surface, my crew became very ill. Some of us pulled through, but most weren't as lucky. After informing Houston of our situation, we were told to stand by. We waited days for an answer. After 1 week of no communication, we voted and decided to head back home. The plant is just over 4 lightyears away(almost 149,000 earth years away) but thanks to science, we can travel at lightspeed. We will be re-entering earth's atmosphere soon. Our homecoming was not as we expected. Armed officer in hazmat gear was our welcoming party. We've been in quarantine for the past 36 days. They've run so many tests, I've lost count. I've been told we'll be released in two days.
Day 37
There's commotion in the hall. I hear yelling but i can't make out the words. It's pure pandemonium.
Day 40
It's been 3 days and i haven't seen anyone. I'm trying to find a way out. I'm hungry and thirsty. No matter how much i scream, no one answers.
Day 41
Thanks to a power outage, the electronic locks on our doors disengages. My surviving crewmembers are all in the hall. All except 1, our mechanic Tracy is missing. I don't know where all the doctors have gone but we need to find out what happened. (Suddenly the sound of bare feet on a linoleum floor is rapidly approaching) "i don't know who that is but i have a bad feeling" (Tracy comes barreling around the corner) "run!" She shouts. I notice one of the doctors turn the corner but as they get closer, i realize that his face is all wrong. It looks as though someone poured hot grease down his face, but his eyes...they look like orbs of fire. I'm so mesmerised by the sight of him that i don't notice the rest of the doctors behind him. We turn to follow Tracy. She said she knows how to get out, so we put more effort into escaping. We have to get as far away from here as possible. Luckily Tracy nabbed someone's keys, so all 4 of us piled into the truck and speed off. I don't know who this truck belongs to but, who leaves cash in their vehicle? Since our pilot Jax lives closest, we decided to head to his place to report the incident. The area surrounding the place where we'd been held is baron, so we have a long drive ahead of us before we reach a populated area. As soon as we make it into town, we stop for fuel and some snacks since we haven't eaten in days. Sampson(mechanic #2)noticed a cellphone rack. I get one to make the call cause honestly, it can't wait. I finally get to report the situation at the medical site and we're told to continue with our plan to go to Jax's house and stay there. That's exactly what we do. When we pull up there's government agents waiting to take our full story. It's been several days now and we hear the news that an entire town has been quarantined but several people are unaccounted for. No updates are coming out of the town and yes it's the same place we stopped. The agents that we talked to are gone. They were here last night but everything is quiet this morning. We've also gotten news of more towns and larger cities have also been quarantined. Once that happens no new news comes out of those areas. We believe this has something to do with us. Maybe we shouldn't have come back. By nightfall all hell breaks loose. At first it was just a few gunshots here and there. Then emergency sirens began to blare the news has reports of people going mad and tearing each other apart. I'm afraid but i have to be strong. I still feel responsible for my crew. It's gotten so much worse so fast.
