QR Code Murders: The FEDS
Federal agents flood the scene.
The amount of blood that had trickled out from the body seemed to be enough to fill about a pint. Diggs 64 Godhead was the latest victim of the slayings related to the QR code on his right bicep. The FBI approached the cases in an entirely different way than Kim or any other state detective. Agent Slattery St. Kitts used his college training, his training at the Academy, and years studying Zen Buddhism. By spending two years in Tibet, he claimed to have a spiritual awakening that led to his understanding of the ways of man. At the Academy, he finished third in his class and earned top honors for his pistol firing. It even evolved to shooting competitions which he always placed first.
He brought an extremely calm demeanor to the case. He spoke in a hushed tone and accentuated his verbs.
“What we have here is a murderless murder,” he said to his partner, Deever “Diesel” Darby. He had a chiseled jaw and massive trapezius and biceps. He had played college football and would have been the fifty third player on the team if he had not injured his Achilles heel. He was studying law, but he wanted to be outside with the action. He graduated cum laude in his class and entered the FBI Academy.
St. Kitts and Darby went against protocol when they allowed Yawquisha to video them.
“What are the clues that you have discovered so far that have eluded other law enforcement agencies?”
“We’re going to be edited, correct?” St. Kitts asked.
“Yes, of course,” Yawquisha replied.
“Okay, so we have the tattooist who inscribed the image on the arm of the victim.”
“What if I told you that a state detective discovered that weeks ago?”
“It would be news. Are you talking about the same person?”
“Tall K.”
“That’s the one. Okay.”
Darby then cleared his throat.
“We’ve been looking further into his file. He served time. He hustled behind bars giving toothbrush paint to the inmates for packets of ramen. He was doing time for trafficking cocaine in and around Wilmington and into New Jersey. His….”
“His shop opened five years ago when he got out and got his license restored. He’s currently running a clean shop. Save for the two kilos of that white girl in his upper portion of his shop.”
“Two…how did you know about that? Is that true?”
Yawquisha shrugged. The two FBI agents scrambled for a phone to call in this bit of information.
The next day, Tall K did the Perp walk. The tip led to an increased access to the FBI’s dossiers which had been declassified and available to Yawquisha first.
“What else do you know?” Darby asked.
“I can tell you that the On the Map studios is a hotbed for suspicious activity. It was also the scene….”
“Of the vehicle explosion,” St. Kitts finished.
“Exactly. So if you want to get to the crux of this problem, it’s probably wise to either work with the state detectives, namely Kim Jergensen.”
The two agents looked at each other. “Okay we’ll look into that but we’re interested in your information,” Darby mentioned.
“If you allow Detective Jergensen back into this case, you will be given a whip smart woman with a gun who can get down with the best of your agents.”
St. Kitts and Darby looked at each other again. “What’d you say her name was again?”
“Jergensen!” Captain Framington screeched.
“Yes, sir,” Kim called.
“Are you tired of Greenville yet?”
“I could wrap up the cases in about a week, why?”
“The FBI called. They want you to do the job again. The QR codes.”
Kim’s heart fluttered. “I mean if there’s an opening for me.”
“You’ll be working with the feds so be weary.”
