After some heavy editing, the video went up for the world to see. The blurriness looked like whirls of water. The title cards blocked the names of the agents and the detective. The scene of the shooter, made to look as monstrous as possible, focused on her face. It was a face of non-value. Striking, and mannish, it conveyed a story of deep hatred. The video garnered over a billion views in a week.

The Daily Delaware and Channel 30 amongst other news sites yearned for the rights to the video. Yawquisha balked. She almost stopped at licensing it. But she retained full ownership over it after while.

She met up with Kim.

“You’re so famous that no one knows you,” Kim observed.

“Just a little editing is all,” Yawquisha answered.

“You know, you taught me…I learned how to be an atheist from you. You taught me how to put myself first without hurting anyone else, unless they needed it,” she laughed.

“You’re young but you’ve got more years in wisdom than I’ve seen in the Corps, the police force, and the Academy. And speaking of…I’m going back to try my hand at the FBI. Since I’m a vet, I can get an age waiver. I’ll probably end up being under St. Kitts and Darby, but that’s going to be my role. I'm comfy in it. Thank you for that.”

Yawquisha didn’t salute Kim. She just rose to her feet and stood straight like a position of attention. She looked Kim in the eye and scanned her. It was like she was reading her weary, triumphant soul.

“It’s nothing,” Yawquisha stated. She sat back down on the edge of the car.

“I’ll take you home,” Kim declared.

“Thanks.”

The car ride was silent. Neither woman spoke but they shared so many experiences together. The cases that Kim closed would mean she would be elevated at the Academy. She would be considered an agent faster than other candidates given her recent work. The video that was put online made its rounds all across the globe. Like a flash of lightning, it had lit up the air of the Internet. Comments sections nearly crashed due to the deluge of ideas. Yawquisha trained her camera on Kim for the last time as an official ride-along. She did this all with the knowledge of what her video had done to the Web. The lights along the streets and the pools of oil in water reflected in rainbows. The car kept rolling as the green lights illuminated at each intersection. It felt like cash winnings with each verdant display. With the expression of the engine gaining speed and slowing slightly, the entire situation seemed like a joyous occasion. Neither woman felt a hint of sadness. The happiness that each of them had achieved after being relieved by ending the cases, they sensed something akin to sisterhood. It was more than that. They had earned their places as two women intent on discovering justice.

Kim found Yawquisha’s apartment.

“We’ll see each other,” Kim reminded.

“I look forward to the day,” Yawquisha replied. She exited the vehicle with camera and equipment in tow. Kim didn’t grin as she pulled off to go to her own home.

Who was there but her “him.” He had prepared a meal. Truffles and potatoes, seared salmon and green beans and a bottle of wine awaited her.

“You look wondrous,” He said.

Kim ran to him and kissed his mouth. He then pecked at her face and neck. She took off her jacket. He unbuttoned his shirt.

“Let’s eat later,” he said.

“Let’s,” Kim responded.
