Episode 3

At Colorado Springs, Tesla had released the monster many times, but it was before there were radios, before there were computers, before the mega power systems that ran cities. Before the Electron Age. Trying to tame the monster, he blew out all the generators in the dam many times when he freed hundreds of kilowatts of high frequency, high power from a 50-foot diameter coil. He rewires the huge generators on his own and brought the massive system back online each time. With this coil, he hoped to light a bulb in Paris. There was not much for the monster to eat then, but now. It would be devastating. My coil was 60 feet in diameter and would handle a thousand times more current.

I got a board, the nail gun, and the saw. Oh yeah, and the protein bars.

I walked up to the door. It was apparent that Mycroft had tried to bust it down but failed.

As I brought all the stuff, I said, "Mycroft, you still there?"

A weak voice said, "I'm starving."

I said, "Step back from the door, and I will fix that."

I took the saw and cut a small slot in the door. I shoved the bars I bought at the discount store into the room. Then I took the board and nailed it to the hole I had made in the door.

"Oh, thank you. Hold it. These are those orange bars. Those bars are said to be terrible. Where did you find them?"

I could hear the sound of the wrapper opening.

"Oh, these are horrible!"

"Learn to like it, Mycroft. That's all that's on your menu. Bye."

"No wait, something else, anything. Please ..."

I went back to confirm my calculations. I got the ground ready with a good foundation for the resonator.

The voice said, "They are going to come, and you will need to defend yourself."

That sounded like a good thing. So, I made two remote-controlled guns while I was waiting. They would shoot golf balls by using huge motors spinning as fast as they would go. The bins that feed the gun would hold five hundred balls. So, I ordered 2,000 balls.

I also made ten explosive claymore-type charges. Only these charges used fifty small super balls. I hooked up a remote trigger that worked on sending ultrasonic tones.

The guns I had disguised as big bushes. I had a lot of artificial branches mounted on them. Unless you were looking right at them, they blended in with the environment.

"What the Hell are you doing out there," Mycroft said from the small bathroom window?

I ignored him.

"Hey asshole, I have the revenge of the orange bars. I have not passed anything solid in a day."

"You should not have come here, Mycroft. You thought it was a joke to come and find out my secret. You thought to put this on your website was your right. Now you find yourself nailed in a bathroom. It will be all over in a few days. You will just have to carry on until then."

I got the one-finger salute. I went back to work. In a half-hour, I was ready for the tank tomorrow. The whole time, Mycroft heckled me. This would be a problem.

The next day the tank crew arrived. I walked to the Led.

"Look, my crazy brother is being treated. He is nutty as a fruit cake, and he may scream obscenities at you. There is no telling what he will say, but I know it will be outrageous. We don't believe in binding him as they did in the hospital. Although, there were several times he was given electro-shock therapy without our permission. When we found out, he was moved here for private care. I must admit it has been tough but worthwhile in the long run. Please just ignore him, and know he is getting the best treatment possible."

The Lead said, "Yeah, sure, you all have crazies in your family. An extra $100.00 apiece to keep quiet about your problems."

"Yeah, sure, here's the extra money. I trust that you will see it gets to the right people."

The Lead said, "Oh yeah, the boys will appreciate it."

As soon as the tank team showed on the grounds, Mycroft started to call to them.

"Help me. I'm being held against my will," he screamed.

Screaming until he was hoarse, they ignored him. They placed the tank and left.

I started to fill the tank. At this rate, it would take hours to fill this thing to the right volume. After the morning light, I checked the fill level. It was still more water to add.

Ringing the tuned cavity, I found the resonate frequency was too low. I needed more water.

It was nine in the morning, and they came.

I got on the loudspeaker and said, "Get back. I have charges. Hidden all over the property."

I set off one of the Claymores. Fifty superballs bounced everywhere. Fleeing, they called for re-enforcements. I heard them on my scanner. Just great. I was almost there. I needed just a bit more time.

"I got a hostage. I'll blow him up if I see anybody."

And the tank slowly filled.

The cops got on their loudspeaker and said, "Look, we don't want any trouble. Don't hurt your hostage."

I said, "Go away and leave me alone."

"Now, I think you know better than that. You must now come and answer to the authorities."

"No!"

The cops said, "We will come and get you."

I said, "There are traps in the house. Come on in."
