The hidden home Dexter, Bubbles, Buttercup and Bell had settled

into had several rooms. It had so many that you could get lost if you

weren't careful. That didn't matter to Dexter though who was steadily

searching for a library. Buttercup tagged along so she could finda

kitchen. Since she was constantly active with the soccer team she

ate much more than Blossom or Bubbles. A growl escaped from her

stomach.

"Don't worry, | think we found the kitchen." Dexter pointed to a pair of

double doors. The doors had tiny windows which shown a

refrigerator inside.

"Thank God!" Buttercup said rushing inside to open up the

refrigerator. "FUUUUUUUUUU..."

"What's wrong?" Dexter said walking up the the refrigerator.

Inside was a very well organized "grocery store" of ingrediants, but

nothing already cooked. Sighing Buttercup took an apple and leaned

against the counter eating it.

"| don't know how to cook." Replied Buttercup with a grumpy face.

Dexter chuckled and held the refrigerator door open looking at what

ingredients they had to work with.

"Well, | can teach you how." Dexter said picking through the

ingredients he had to choose from.

"Umm... that may not be wise..." Buttercup said nervously looking

the other direction.

"Why is that?" Dexter asked as he got out a cutting board and began

skillfully dicing up an onion.

"Well, when it comes to cooking | suck." Buttercup said looking

intimidated at Dexter's handling of the giant chef's knife. "The last

time | tried to cook | messed up badly and no one wanted to eat it."

"Then that's an even better reason why you need to learn how to do

it." Dexter gave her a small grin and took out some carrots. "Besides,

cooking is simply the combination of chemicals the human body

needs to sustain itself."

Patiently he showed her how to peel one of the carrots using a

potato peeler. Soon Buttercup was peeling the carrots at light speed.

Dexter put the onions in a bowl and began dicing up celery. Looking

over he gasped at how fast Buttercup had gotten the carrots peeled

than smiled.

"Well | guess we should dice the carrots now." Dexter said with a

small smile. "Do you feel comfortable trying?"

"Umm..." Buttercup looked at the knife timidly. Beating up bad guys

with knives was one thing, but actually using the knives to make

something was quite another. "... | don't know."

"It's easy, I'll show you." Dexter said as he took a sack of rice filling a

rice cooker with the right amounts of rice and water. He then tooka

few carrots gingerly from Buttercup's hand.

He laid the carrots onto the cutting board and began to smoothly run

the knife vertically over each one chopping them in half, then sliced

them skillfully into half rings.

"Wow, how long have you been cooking?" Buttercup asked watching

Dexter grab a few more carrots.

"Technically since | was six and got into chemistry." Dexter said as

he put down the knife and stepped aside for Buttercup to take over.

Buttercup stepped toward the cutting board anxiously and started

dicing the carrots up the same way Dexter showed her how.

"You're doing a great job, keep it up." Dexter said getting outa

pound of chicken.

Buttercup grinned and kept going as Dexter took out a wok putting

olive oil into it as he turned the stove on medium high. He put the

garlic, onion and celery in stirring them constantly adding the

seasonings as well. Taking a package of chicken out he quickly

diced it adding it to the pan searing it. Finding curry he added a good

portion of that and then some water.

"We need the carrots and potatoes." Dexter said to Buttercup.

"I'm on it." Buttercup grinned adding the diced potatoes and carrots

to the pan as Dexter stirred it.

"We'll need to let this cook until the potatoes are done, but that

shouldn't take too long." Dexter said as he turned the temperature

down the medium low.

"Oh man, | can't wait!" Buttercup said as a bit of drool came out of

the side of her mouth.

"Let's set the table so everyone can eat when it's done." Dexter

chuckled a bit as he gave the curry one last stir.

They set the table getting out plates, silverware and cups.

"I'm sure Bell and Bubbles are probably hungry too. Do you want to

call them to the table?" Dexter asked.

"Oh! Sure, I'll go get them." Buttercup said as she instinctively leapt

into the air, but forgot she couldn't fly as she landed on her face.

Dexter just blinked as he scratched his head, then offered to help her

up.

"Are you okay?" Dexter asked her with a concerned tone in his

voice.

"Yeah... it's just I'm so used to being able to fly." Buttercup said

rubbing her cheek. "How can you stand to walk so much?"

"| guess the same way you stand to fly all the time. You just get used

to it." Dexter said with a sympathetic smile.

Buttercup went to get the other two Powerpuffs as Dexter set the

table. They soon came back with Buttercup's guidance. Bell and

Bubbles both looked around the kitchen curiously.

"Wow... how did you guys find this place?" Bell said taking a seat.

"Oh we just wondered around till we found it." Dexter said serving all

the girls at the table.

"And I've been eating from a vending machine this whole time." Belle

sighed looking at the food. "What is this anyways?"

"It's Curry, me and Buttercup made it." Dexter said enthusiastically

giving Buttercup and thumbs up. Buttercup responded with a grin.

"Well, it looks good." Bubbles said placing a napkin on her lap.

All of them brought their spoons to their mouths.

"Oh wow, this is good!" Bubbles said enthusiastically.

"Yeah, you two make a good team in the kitchen." Bell said after

taking a few bites.

"Heh... In all honesty | think Dexter did most of the work." Buttercup

said humbly. "I just sort of helped cut up vegetables."

"Hey now, that's still a good amount of the work." Dexter said winking

at Buttercup.

"Yeah, so what are we doing after we eat?" Buttercup said.

"| guess we can go find the library. There has to be a map of this

place." Dexter said before blowing on his curry to cool it off some

more.

"I've never seen a library in here before, but you did find this kitchen

so I'll help too." Bell said mixing her rice and curry together.

"And l'Il help too." Bubbles chirped in happily.

"You won't be doing anything like that." a demonic voice came out of

no where as the room turned a reddish color and one of the walls

looked like the fuzzy screen you get when you're television isn't

picking up a signal. "In fact... you won't be doing anything at all

when I'm through with you."

Him appeared on the wall with that same fuzzy television screen the

the background.

"| hope you are all enjoying your meal because this is your last

supper." Him cackled madly.

Dexter looked at Bubbles' and Buttercup's scared reactions to Bell's

confused and terrified one and then turned to glare at the red

strangely dressed man.

"Who gave you the right to terrorize us like this?" Dexter said walking

up to Him as he started to scowl.

"Who says | need anyone's permission to do what | very damn well

feel like doing?" Him said with a smirk as his claw came out of the

wall grabbing Bell by the waist, forcing her into the wall with him. She

immediately started hyperventilating and started trying to slip out of

him's grasp only for Him to tighten his grip on her.

"What the... GIVE BELL BACK!" Dexter shouted pounding on the

wall in vein.

"Why should | give the perfect girl formula back to you three

stooges?" Him chuckled. "Oh, I've been looking for her." Him said

menacingly as he licked her cheek as tears started streaming down

her face.

"What the... perfect girl formula?... GIVE HER BACK!" Dexter

shouted. "She's a living human being. She deserves her freedom

and not to get molested by the likes of you."

"She's sugar, spice and everything nice. That's all Powerpuff girls

are. They are 'Simply the combination of chemicals the human body

needs to sustain itself'." Him said looking up Bell's dress now.

Dexter gasped at his words and glared at him peeking up her dress

as a Shiver went up his spine. Was he spying on them the whole

time?

"| need to go now, but | thought | might return this to you." Him made

a beckoning movement with one claw as he held onto Bell with the

other. "Come to daddy, that's it. Good girl." Blossom came up to him

in her usual pink and black dress, only she wore a pair of stylish

sunglasses that matched her dress perfectly.

"Yes master, what would you like me to help you with?" Blossom said

in a monotone voice.

"I'd like for you to kill the Powerpuff girls." Him said cheerfully.

"Okay, where are they?" Blossom said in the same monotone voice.

"I'll take you to them, they're wearing blue and green." Him said

delighted.

Pushing her out of the wall and into the kitchen Blossom took a good

look at both Bubbles and Buttercup who were still slightly frozen in

fear as she started to fly.

"Oh shit." Dexter muttered as he grabbed both Buttercup and

Bubbles, forcing them to leave the room quickly. "We have to get the

hell out of here." Dexter said forcing them to make a bee line to the

outside.

He pushed Bubbles, Buttercup and himself into a dumpster in time to

hear the brainwashed puff fly by. Bubbles was sobbing softly and all

Dexter could do was to shh and comfort her. He wrapped his arms

around her lovingly as the stench of yesterday's pizza filled their

nostrils.
