Power of Prue

A Charmed fan-fiction tribute to Shannen Doherty

By Joe PattersonPublished 9 months ago 3 min read

Pruedence Halliwell is in the living room of her family house getting ready for her date tonight. “Prue? Prue where are you?” Phoebe called out as she made her way downstairs. “I’m right here” Prue called back while fixing herself in the living room mirror. “Well don’t you look sparkling?” Phoebe observed while looking at Prue in her red dress.

“Don’t I?” Prue began. “I mean if you can handle looking like a bottle of Coke-a Cola for the guy who’s been hitting on you for the past month, then you don’t have to worry about being labeled a cheap date, oh wait, yes you do.” “Ok ms. Sarcasm” Phoebe started. “What’s this about, not having trust issues again are we?”

Prue hesitated before she continued. “No, well kinda. I mean, I’ve only known Drew for three weeks since we started working together and he hasn’t said much about his past.” “Well what more is there to say?” Phoebe inquired. “He’s new in town. He’s from a small town in New York. He doesn’t have a lot of family and he thinks you’re smoking hot. What more do you need to know, Prudence?”

“I get it, Phoebe. He doesn’t have the biggest background to revisit, but he has to have something for me to go on. He seems to only wanna know a lot about me.” “What’s so wrong about a guy keeping the focus on you?” Phoebe asked. “Don’t we need more of that selflessness from men?” “Yeah but how do I know he’s not-” Prue hesitated. “What?” Phoebe asked. “A demon? A dark lighter?” “It’s possible” Prue began hesitantly. “Look, I’m just trying to be careful”

“Careful of what?” Piper asked as she walked in the door on Prue and Phoebe’s conversation. “Prue is paranoid that Drew might be a demon?” Phoebe exclaimed. “Thanks, Pheebs” Prue added sarcastically. “What happened? Did you catch him trying to cast a spell or harm an innocent?” Piper asked. “No, he’s just a little mysterious and almost too good to be true.” Prue replied. “Well how about we hide and watch him closely as he comes to pick you up for your date tonight? You know, we’ll just watch his movements and see if he does anything suspicious” Piper suggested. “I’m not completely against that idea” Prue agreed.

“Ok am I the only one here who thinks we aren’t giving sexy Drew a fair shake?” Phoebe asked. “I think you are” Piper added sarcastically. The trio was suddenly interrupted by a knock on the door. “That’s him” Prue whispered hastily. Phoebe and Piper both hid behind the living room wall as Prue opened the door. “Hey handsome” Prue said as she let Drew in. “Well don’t you look gorgeous!” Drew exclaimed while studying Prue’s dress. “This is a nice place you got here, looks like someone is loaded on the family dollars.” “I do alright” Prue added. “You ready to head to the club?”

“You know, I was thinking maybe we could hang here given your place is so…nice and comfortable” Drew suggested. “Not exactly what I had in mind” Prue rebuttaled suspiciously. “Besides, there’s no food, drink and dancing.” “Yeah, but there is a book, one of shadows that you possess, am I right?” Drew asked as Prue’s heart skipped a beat and Phoebe and Piper looked at each other in shock.

“Why does it always have to be the cute ones?” Prue asked aloud. Drew then morphed into a red and black demon with small horns on his head and shot a beam of flames at Prue who ducked the blast and knocked him to the other side of the room with a white beaming orb of her own. As Prue rose to her feet, Piper and Phoebe rushed to her side as the demon Drew rose to his feet. “Ah yes” he exclaimed with satisfaction. “The Charmed Ones. What a legend I will be known as for eliminating all three of you.” “Keep dreaming” Prue exclaimed. Drew then shot a bigger blast of flames at the three sisters who used their power to repel the blast sending it flying into Drew’s chest while he screamed in agony as he was blown up by the blast.

“Well that sucks. He was too good to be true” Phoebe began. “Yeah, you just can’t trust anyone these days” Piper added. “As a matter fact I do have someone I can trust. I have my sisters” Prue said affectionately. “Power of three” Prue concluded with a smile as she, Piper and Phoebe shared a group hug.
