Have you ever patrolled the night, when the darkness covers the light? Criminals and evil linger about, trying to hide their whereabouts.
The noise from the alarm clock sounded like a set of nails clawing down a white board. That same annoying, terrifying, sound that comes with being in a place that you don't want to be. For Officer Mike Lang, he had to get up and face the world as it now was. Lang was dreading about going out in his uniform as a member of the Minnesota Police Department. He has been a Police Officer for the last fifteen years, and never seen anything like what was going on. It was a man made disaster with civilians targeting Police Officers and ambushing the front line Officers all over the world. The public had been brained washed from all the negative news that was being shed on Police Officers from the media. Police Officers being killed in cold blood, Police Stations being burned down, and Officers being followed home, and their families being targeted and murdered.
Lang's wife Julie, had passed away five years ago due to cancer, and Lang had turned to alcohol to cope with the loss of the only woman he has ever loved. Lang had bought Julie a heart shaped locket for their first anniversary that she would wear all the time. Lang now carried this locket in his pocket while he was working, as a way to let his wife watch over him while he tried to keep the City of Minnesota safe.
Night time was the most terrifying, as the public would use the dark to sneak up on unsuspected officers. Over fifty thousand officers had already lost their life during this assault on law enforcement. All law enforcement Officers, are now living in a world where law and order was falling by the wayside. Lang was one of eight Officers left in a city of 8.5 million people. It was only a matter of time until all Officers were murdered by the evil mob of the New World Order. The New World Order is a world of chaos and violence, that had grown too over power all law enforcement. You either joined in their movement or faced the only consequence, which was murder. Lang would never give in to the evil powers taking over the world. He would rather die, in fact, he was not scared to die because the only person he ever loved was waiting for him above.
Tonight as Lang drove the streets, the mob of people were in the thousands. Walking down the main streets of Minnesota, looting and murdering everyone in their way, as they moved forward. Lang could hear over the radio, other Officers who were crying out for help. The mob had sucked them up and left them murdered and naked laying in the middle of the street. Lang was not going to give in to the evil and darkness that now controlled the world. Lang pulled his wife's locket out of his pocket, kissed it, and said a quick prayer to himself. "Dear god, please guide me through the remainder of my life. I shall not give in to the evil that has been resurrected by the devil himself, in Jesus name, amen."
As Lang opened his eyes, he could see the mob walking toward his cruiser. Lang hit the release lock button for his rifle. Lang grabbed the rifle, stepped outside of the cruiser and aimed the firearm towards the enormous mob that was slowly walking towards him. Most individuals wearing helmets, and bullet proof vests. Lang started to yell out "Forgive me all, the New World Order is the devil!" Lang turned the rifle on himself, "bang".
Lang could see his body as he started to rise up into the sky. The mob now surrounding him, undressing his body, while others kicked him in the head. All of a sudden, a bright light was shining in his eyes. He couldn't see a thing. Finally the light faded and he was standing in front of a gate. He could hear a male's voice telling him to open the gate and come in. As he started to open the gate, and took a step through, his body started to fall. He closed his eyes as he could feel his body falling towards the ground, finally hitting a hard surface.
Lang opened his eyes, there was a light shinning into his left eye. As the light pulled away, he could see a man in a white coat, with a stethoscope hanging around his neck. "Where am I?" asked Lang. The doctor explained "You are in the Minnesota Memorial Hospital Mike. You have been in a coma for the last 5 years." Lang looked around the room, flowers and cards all lined up along the table beside his bed. "What happen to me?" asked Lang. "You tried to kill yourself with a rifle" the doctor explained. Lang's mind was confused and in disbelief. "What about the New World Order?" asked Lang. "How did you know about that Mike? The New World Order is a small group of anti-police protestors who started a group a few months ago, while you were still in your coma. They have been protesting over the death of a man shot by a Minnesota Police Officer" explained the doctor. "Where is all my belongings?" asked Lang. "They are in a bag under your bed, I'll get them for you" replied the doctor.
The doctor handed Lang the bag of his belongings. There inside the bag was his wallet with his police badge, his wedding ring, and the heart shaped locket he had bought for his wife. Lang asked the doctor to turn on the television and turn it to channel 3 news. "BEEP BEEP BEEP......this is an emergency announcement," came across the screen. The protestors had taken over the Minnesota Court house. Lang looked at the doctor and said, "Doc, the world as we know it, will never be the same."
