In the show, Shin Ha-ri (played by Kim Se-jeong) pretends to be her friend Jin Young-seo (played by Seol In-ah) on a blind date arranged by Young-seo's father. The plan was for Ha-ri to get rejected, but things go awry when her date turns out to be Kang Tae-moo (played by Ahn Hyo-seop), the CEO of the company where she works. Tae-moo's grandfather pressures him to marry and go on blind dates with suitable partners.Unbeknownst to Tae-moo, Ha-ri is his employee, and she tries to hide her identity from him. However, her fake identity is exposed, and Tae-moo blackmails her into pretending to be his fiancée in exchange for a payment.During their fake dating, Ha-ri uses a fake background created by Tae-moo and his secretary, Cha Sung-hoon, to make a good impression on Tae-moo's grandfather. Despite their frosty start, Ha-ri and Tae-moo grow closer, but Tae-moo eventually discovers Ha-ri's true identity. Although he initially feels betrayed, he still loves her, and they become a couple.
Meanwhile, Young-seo moves out of her father's house to avoid blind dates and becomes Sung-hoon's neighbor. Although Sung-hoon is upset with her for deceiving his boss, he can't deny his growing feelings for her, and they eventually get together.
