Knowing that it was time to go was the most wonderful moment of my life when I woke up to the feeling of cold seeping through the walls and tiny cracks in the windows.

The view of the frozen lake as I awoke from my bed and stretched after a long night's sleep was magnificent as I looked out across it. As I made my way carefully to the window, I was rewarded with a breathtaking view.

A scene like this can't be seen anywhere else on the globe, such is its grandeur. It's a lovely sight to see the gorgeous winter sky with the sun rising over the horizon and reflecting off the ice as it reflects off the water.

Whenever I'm skating over a frozen lake, I frequently wonder whether anybody else has experienced the same joy as I have when skating over smooth black ice.

The ice is so wonderful that you almost want to leave it alone since it is so delicious. It's days like this that make you think about the moments in your life that you'd do anything to go back and do them over again.

Finally, after finding yourself gazing at it in wonder, you realize that it is not a dream, but rather a reality that is all yours.

Following your team sweatpants and beautiful tuque, you proceed to the cold garage, where you will collect your skates and twigs from storage. While walking out the door, you are surrounded by the cold of the early morning air and wind.

Exhalation air is defined as the air that cools deep inside your lungs and pulls your breath entirely out of your body.

After making your way down to pond level, you will be greeted with the most amazing sight you have ever seen.

In the frozen pond, there is no room for error. There's no snow to shovel, no hazard to fix, and only one thing to do: skate it, baby skate it. There's nothing else to do.

During the process of putting on your skates and getting ready to hit the ice, you get a phone call from your best buddy asking whether the ice is prepared.

Even if you make an effort to respond affirmatively while grinning, he already knows the answer and hangs up before you have a chance to respond.

Your arrival at the rink has finally been completed, and you are taking your first step onto the ice, reluctant to take a full stride for fear of falling in, as you remember the last time you fell in.

However, the timing is perfect, and you race across the lake at full speed from the moment you take your first step forward.

On a Saturday morning, the only thing you can hear is the hushed silence of the neighborhood and the crunching of your skates as they glide over the icy surface. That kind of crunching can only be experienced on a frozen lake, not on a rink of frozen water.

The cold wind blowing across your face and the rapid beat of your heart may be felt as you skate over the ice.

There is no other feeling that can match the sense of being submerged in pure beauty on a pond, and nothing else matters except the current moment itself. That's one of the most appealing aspects of Pure As Pond Ice: you can be whoever you want while still maintaining the freedom to play as you want.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to what you may do on the pond, whether it's sending a perfect saucer over the water or lifting the cup in the manner of your favorite player.

There are no limits, no boards to keep you in check, and no pressure from coaches or statistics to keep you in check. Only you and the game are there, and it is the game you like playing.

After a terrific solo skate and a few excellent snipes, a buddy joins in the fun, and more people join in on the fun as the skate continues. Make a pile of sticks in the center of the table and make up your own set of rules before starting. While you're playing, the sweat that's collected on your head will cause your cap to become icy cold.

Once you begin to believe that your skates and toes have become an integral part of your body, it is necessary to continue skating for an extended period. After hundreds of dangles, diggers, laughs, snipes, and pond games, you're exhausted from the whole experience and ready to go home.

The sun begins to set over the lake as you make your way back to your comfortable house, content in the knowledge that your time was well spent.

After taking your skates off and wincing in misery, you'll realize that your toes have thawed out and that you've accomplished something worthwhile. Now go get yourself some sauce and some food, and then go ahead and enjoy yourself because you've just spent the whole day playing the best game on the planet, and you are enjoying yourself.

Bring out the champagne and toast pond hockey!
