Playing a long way from home

After an exhausting gig in Galway, on the west coast of Ireland, the lads needed a drink, so headed for a friendly local pub... still wearing their stage clothes and makeup

By Raymond G. TaylorPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

It was a fantastic gig. Their first tour of Ireland: Monroe's Live in Galway. The Irish press were there, the group all in the special stage costumes and best makeup. The audience was amazing, demanding two encores before the house hit the power.

"I need a pint," said Mark.

"Well we can't go out like this," Dave replied.

"Hell, why not?"

Three Pints of Guinness in, and they were starting to relax. One of the locals came up to them. Autograph hunter? No. Looking the lads up and down, quizzically, he had just one question:

"Are you boys from Dublin?"

That is so funny! I was in Galway and Aran Islands in 2013 and there was clearly a Dublin rivalry/disdain spirit there. Great story, Raymond.

  • I don't understand the ending, so sorry 😅😅
