I woke up well rested and yawning . I waited for the fogginess in my head to clear . Before I tried to make sense of the world . Right after I calibrated my mind , I decided to check on the others . I scanned their branches and saw that 3 people were up other than me . Rose , Visceroy and John were still asleep . The bats nested in the highest trees , because of their ability to fly . I decided to climb to Illdred , since he was at the highest post . I figured if someone had seen anything important , then it was probably him .

After I reached him I said hello . “ Good morning Illdred , I was just wondering if you have seen anything . You’re the highest person that was on lookout duty . So I figured I would ask you .Illdred replied to me, “ I actually did see a few things . Only one thing happened that I didn’t expect though . First I saw small groups of insect soldiers and dino vultures leaving and returning to the cave . The second thing I noticed was when Visceroy was on watch . When I was sleep a loud roar woke me up for a few minutes . I’m not so sure if I was seeing things , because I was tired at that point . It just seemed to me that after that roar , I could see the cave and surrounding trees trembling . “

I took my time to absorb what he just told me . I know for sure that the roar was real . That now leaves at least 3 of us who heard it . Me , Visceroy and Illdred . From what Illdred said though . It might possibly mean that it came from the cave . So my worse fears were right , we might be dealing with the rumored monster of the cave and the insect soldiers at the time . Even worse there’s a chance that they’re working together .

After I came to my conclusion I replied to him , he was patiently waiting for my response as I was thinking . “Thanks for the information . Me and Visceroy heard the roar too , and that must mean that the rumored monster might be a foe as well . “ He responded “ That’s true and shame it does seem to be the Monster we got reports about . No one ever got deep enough in the cave to see it and escape . Anyone who saw the monster never returned . I’m guessing the same could be said for whoever ran into the insects and their poison . “

Wade popped up “ What are you young mavericks talking about ? “ I replied with a smile “ Oh nothing , just talking about the giant roaring mystery monster and his sneaky insect sidekicks that loves to give us poision ! “ Wade responded , “ Well it sounds like hell of an adventure now doesn’t it . I’ll have another fascinating story that’’ll be able to tell my grandson ! “

I decided to conclude the talks and go over my plans . First I stopped to talk to Bulls Eye . He was on the way down but on the opposite side of where I slept . I briefed him on everything that was just previously discussed . I even included what the old guy Wade said . When I finished speaking and also asked him if he has noticed anything different or new from what I just told him . Bulls Eye gave me a reply .” No , I just saw a few small groups coming back and forth from the cave but I must’ve slept through the roar ."
