When Luna Rodriguez sat down to eat lunch, she sat apart from the other business women and ventured into the boy’s club.
“Are you lost?” Shameik Vole asked.
“No. I want to buy you lunch,” she said. The confidence rising in her throat let Vole know that she was serious.
“Okay. I’ve got the tip.”
“No. I’m financing the entire meal.”
Vole canted his chin up slightly.
“I’ve noticed your record,” Luna pointed out. I want to get to know you personally.”
“This is the best way. Women don’t usually come to this section. You’re serious.”
“I am.”
“Let’s talk.”
