Operation Majestic 12: The Biggest UFO Cover-Up Conspiracy
The MJ-12, a power group in the shadow of the deep state hiding everything related to the UFO phenomenon, is studied through reverse engineering and managing contact with extraterrestrials.
What is the Majestic12 project?
Who were its members?
Is it real?
Does it still exist?
UFOs and alien encounters have been occurring for decades, but not all cases are made public.
Operation Majestic 12 is the mother of all conspiracy theories about the cover-up of the UFO and extraterrestrial phenomenon if aliens exist and are visiting us.
The MJ-12 is a group of power in the shadow that would have been formed in the United States after the Roswell incident to hide everything related to UFOs.
Instead, it studied its technology to copy used for military purposes.
By the designation of its 12 members, the MJ-12 was born with so much power that it immediately became part of the so-called “deep state.”
That is its history from Roswell to the JFK assassination.
How was the secret group Majestic 12 formed?
On June 24, 1947, nine unidentified objects were sighted by civilian pilot Kenneth Arnold while flying over the Cascade Mountains in Washington State.
This sighting was followed by many others, launching the UFO phenomenon to the front page news, until two weeks later, one of its high points occurred, the Roswell incident, on July 8, 1947, according to which the U.S. Air Force recovered a crashed flying saucer.

One of the most immediate consequences is that it launched a campaign to cover up the event only a few hours after the news broke, claiming that the remains found were from a meteorological event.
Another consequence is that the then U.S. President Harry O. Truman was the first to be killed on the 24th and 15th of January.
On September 24, 1947, Truman was approved by executive order Operation Majestic 12, which formed a secret group called MJ-12, composed of 12 members, including scientists, military commanders, and government officials.
The objective of the JJM-12 was to direct the recovery and study operations through engineering and reverse engineering of accident spacecraft, alien corps, incorporation of technology and alien technology into military technology, and establish protocols to follow during fun supposed contact with extraterrestrials.
How was the secret group Majestic 12 exposed?
The alleged existence of MJ-12 did not come into the public domain until 1984, when ufologist Jamie Shandera received an x35mm “photo reel” containing eight pages of an informational memo written by MJ-12 leader Roscoe Hillenkoetter on November 18, 1952.
That memo informed Truman’s successor President Dwight Eisenhower of the existence of MJ-12 before the inauguration of the new term.

The existence of the MJ-12 was strongly called attention to because of its severe implications that such an organization could be genuine, making it the mother of all conspiracy theories about the government’s discovery of the UFO phenomenon.
According to Hillenkoetter’s memorandum, this group will only be held responsible by the U.S. president, and its operations were only accessible to individuals with “MJ-12” security clearance.
That is to say, they were legally superior to any other institution, whether civilian or military, such as the CIA itself. At that time, Hillenkoetter was the Director.

That assumes de facto the existence of a government in the shadow wave, with a powerful group at the top of the so-called “deep state,” directing everything related to the UFO subject, including discovery, research, exploitation of technology, and extraterrestrial economic relations.
Before 1984, there were rumors among the ufological community that something similar to MJ-12 could exist.
However, if known initiatives got launched, such as Project Sign, Grudge, and Blue Book, which consisted of detailed research into UFO incidents by the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Air Force;
it was factible that some organisms coordinated efforts with other military branches such as the navy, the Army, the government, or the scientists involved in the studies.
Initial members of MJ-12
Each member of MJ-12 got given a number; MJ-1 was the leader of the group. The rest would be MJ-2, MJ-3, MJ-4…
The list of MJs in the same order as in Hillenkoetter’s memo would be equivalent to the hierarchy in effect in 1952;
- MJ-1 Roscoe Hillenkoetter — 1st director of the CIA, former director of the CIG, a precursor group to the CIA. The CIA got created on September 18, 1947.
- MJ-2 Vannevar Bush — Scientist. Engineer, inventor, former Manhattan Project, head of the U.S. Office of Scientific Research during World War II.
- MJ-3 James Forrestal — Politician. First U.S. Secretary of Defense (1947–1949).
- MJ-4 Nathan Twining — Military. General and Head of Staff of the U.S. Air Force.
- MJ-5 Hoyt Vandenberg — Military. General and 2nd Chief of the U.S. Air Force, 2nd Director of the CIA.
- MJ-6 Detlev Bronk — Scientist. 3rd president of Rockefeller University.
- MJ-7 Jerome Clarke Hunsaker — Pilot and engineer specializing in aeronautical developments. Director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT in 1933.
- MJ-8 Sidney Souers — Military. Admiral of the U.S. Navy, Director of the CIG, a precursor group to the CIA.
- MJ-9 Gordon Gray — Politician. 5th National Security Advisor of the United States.
- MJ-10 Donald Menzel — Scientist. Theoretical astronomer and astrophysicist. Author of 3 books debunking the UFO phenomenon.
- MJ-11 Robert Montague — Military. Lieutenant General in the U.S. Army.
- MJ-12 Lloyd Berkner — Scientist. Specialized in geophysics and engineering.
In the event of a member’s death, the other members would elect a successor.
When James Forrestal died in 1949, General Walter G Bedell Smith succeeded.
James Forrestal got assassinated on May 22, 1949, in strange circumstances.
After continually opposing Truman’s defense policies, he resigned in March 1949.
From that time on, his mental health deteriorated rapidly with depression.
Finally, he got hospitalized in a psychiatric institution, where he committed suicide by throwing himself out of the window.
The Cutler-Twining Memorandum
In 1985, a year after receiving a carnet of photos with the filtered documents, Jamie Shandera and other ufologists who were trying to authenticate the history began receiving anonymous messages that led them to find the “Cutler-Twining Memorandum” at NARA, the U.S. National Archives, and Document Administration.
This memorandum, which got found among a family of declassified documents, contained a message written on July 14, 1954, by Eisenhower’s deputy, Robert Cutler, to General Nathan Twining (MJ-4), anticipating a planned meeting the White House on July 14, 1954.

After analyzing the document, it was proven to be a forgery using copy-paste techniques, creating discord among the ufological community about the integrity of the MJ-12.
However, someone was taking a lot of trouble to crush false documents in the national archives, indicating anything contrary.
Special Operations Manual SSOM1–01
A decade later, in March 1994, a group of ufologists in Maryland received the second reel of photos with more documents concerning MJ-12.
The images contained the SOM1–01 Special Operations Manual of the Majestic-12 group, printed in April 1954, with the suggestive title “Extraterrestrial Entities and Technology, Recovery and Disposal.”

The title is quite explanatory.
It is a manual that explains the processes to be followed when extraterrestrial craft are recovered from alien bodies, such as studying them, packaging them, sending them, disposing of the evidence at the location of the find, etc.
It even provides copies of forms to fill out and reports on the incident.
In Chapter 5 of SOM1–01, there is a section entitled “Encounters,” which explains how to act during an encounter with extraterrestrials, depending on the type of encounter; initiated the aliens themselves or by their spacecraft being crashed or downed, which seems to explain that the personnel working for MJ-12 are in contact or interviewed by aliens.

As with everything global regarding MJ-12, there is no consensus on the authenticity of the documents.
The printing style is delicate and too modern to date back to 1954.
If true, it would be an updated copy of SOM1–01.
Roswell, according to the 1952 memorandum.
On page 3 of the Hillenkoetter memorial, after presenting the MJ-12 cell and the list of its members, it is stated that the remains of the crashed UFO were recovered in Roswell, a small ship of short-range, as it appeared to be of unknown origin.
A week later, 3.2 km away from the crash site, the bodies of 4 aliens were found, humanoid in appearance, with a smaller height, which had been ejected from the UFO cabin before crashing, dying in the fall.
The bodies were highly decomposed and damaged by the activity of the carrion-eating animals.

The bodies were examined by MJ-6’s team, Dr. Detlev Bronk, and he concluded that although they were humanoid in appearance, their evolutionary characteristics were different from those of humans.
So he proposed calling them “EBEs — Extraterrestrial Biological Entities.
On MJ-10, Donald Menzel suggested that such forms of life could only come from somewhere outside the solar system.
Also, found a possible type of alien writing on the fuselage, which was impossible to decipher.
The JFK assassination and the MJ-12 burned memo theory.
One of the many theories about the authorship of the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy is the theory of the MJ-12 memorial.
On November 12, 1963, JFK requested the Director of the CIA, John McCone, to obtain all the intelligence files he had provided to the Agency and related to UFOs and to report on all the “unknowns” by February 1964, to go to NASA to discuss them with him.
Ten days later, Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.

In 1999, an anonymous former agent claiming to have worked for the CIA between 1954 and 1974 in the counterintelligence department headed by James Angleton leaked a half-burned paper called “the burned memo.”
When Angleton died on May 12, 1987, the former agent, probably now retired, ordered to burn all sensitive documents related to Angleton.
Seeing how they were burning, one of them caught the former agent’s attention, and he decided to rescue it before it burned to the ground.

This singed paper contained a communication from the CIA director, MJ-1, in 1963, addressed to MJ-2, MJ-4, MJ-5, MJ-6, and MJ-7.
The first page ends with a paragraph mentioning Kennedy’s query, followed by a list of references called “Tabs”:
As you must know, LANCER has made some inquiries regarding our activities which we can not allow. Please submit your views no later than October. Your action on this matter is critical to the continuance of the group.
Tab (A) — President’s dEYES ONLY
Tab (B) — “NEED TO KNOW”
Tab (C)— DoD 5200.1
Tab (D) — Project Blue Book
Tab (E) — Freedom of information
Tab (F) — PSYOP
Tab (G) — BW
Tab (H) — project ENVIRONMENT
The “Tabs” references the ones used in the previous paragraph.
Tab (H) is the solution MJ-1 proposes to solve the problem, based on which the opinion/confirmation of the members MJ-2,3,4,5,6, and 7 is given.
The Tab (H) or project “environment” contains the following directive;
When conditions become non-conducive for the increase in our environment and Washington cannot be influenced any further, the weather lacks any precipitation; it should be wet.
“Wet” was the Cold War Soviet code name for “assassination,” referring to the pool of blood that resulted.
In other words, the CIA director was asking for authorization from the 6 main MJs, the entire American power elite, both military and political, to execute the environment project, which was to assassinate Kennedy.
It may appear to be a very remote theory.
Still, this piece of paper is the only surviving written document, which could be considered an authorization of the murder, considering that it was followed by a monumental climate change, which included the destruction of evidence and the elimination of witnesses.
Is the MJ-12 real and still exists?
When sent the documents were to Jamie Shandera, there was a going discussion centered on their authenticity.
Some believe that the papers are entirely false, starting with the FBI, the Agency that conducted an investigation, and on whose website you can find the declassification of the dossier, with a copy of the text with the word “Bogus — false” in large type.
With Rick Doty at the helm, a counterintelligence consultant, others asserted that MJ-12 was real even though certain aspects were part of a disinformation campaign being launched by the U.S. government to divert attention away from other issues.
Influences in popular culture
- It has also inspired the theme of the popular X-Files. One episode featured a brief description of the Majestic 12 conspiracy.
- In addition, the Majestic 12 plays a vital role in the PC game Deus Ex and is mentioned in its sequel Deus Ex: Invisible War and another PC game called Majestic.
- The N64 game Perfect Dark is about a Majestic 12-type conspiracy.
- In the song “Alien Exist” by pop-punk band Blink-182, vocalist Tom DeLonge talks about “12 majestic lies”.
- He also appears in Steve Alten’s book The Mayan Resurrection and the third part, Mayan Apocalypse.
- The Umbrella Academy, season 2, appears as a group attempting to assassinate President Kennedy.
