Neverending Stories from Utopia

The price of goodness

There is a trinity in the heart of the Earth, a place full of light and shadows, full of tall trees where juicy fruits grow to feed the mind and the soul. In other languages, it is called Utopia and it's hardly imaginable to those who haven't experienced it.

A trinity of intelligence, sensitiveness and kindness. It belongs to no religion, to no cult. It is just as humankind should be, devoid of conflicts and pointless war or fencing.

There are no heaven railways to walk in to arrive in this place, no "I'd give my life for you". No neverending stories to be told because there they don't tell stories, they live them.

There they catch the light and run the way down the river running and laughing down the eternal rain of pureness. There's no forbidden, as they learnt what is good and what is right and they don't follow mischief. Hurt, dramas, stupidity, envy. These sins don't find a place on this island of serenity.

Kids play, don't quarrel; adults comprehend, don't judge; youngsters respect and live in their ways being respected. Discrimination is not allowed. Everyone is free to shape their own lives as they wish because they're not going to harm, or anger others. The concept of crime doesn't exist.

Death comes as a natural consequence of life, it's never inflicted by man's hands. No unspeakable whisper lies in its inhabitants' minds. It wouldn't be beneficial to anybody.

The raising shine of tolerance, mutual understanding's needs and uneasiness, and innoxious curiosity towards what is different make people conscious of the preciousness of owning a good heart.

They consider the mind as a satellite to guide them in not speaking without knowing or before stopping and thinking of the matter, in not judging a book by its cover, in considering that if someone might hurt somebody, it's not because of pure evil, but because nobody listens to his problem and doubts.

And whenever someone feels the urge of disrupting this flow of harmony, he will be advised to go and consult the Mirrors of the Sea. These unique items consent one to see what's in their hearts and minds and to decide if their thoughts are good or bad for their lives.

They work like a magnifier that focuses on the very core of an idea, a feeling, a sensation, to reveal if there's something rotten in there and if that rotten is needed or not.

If the level of decay is Zéro, the sea will be calm and placid, but if the level is concerning, Seven - like those capital sins that are known only to books and chronicles from other worlds, the sea will be rumbling and boiling, black and terrifying and a storm of death and destruction will take place in front of those who consult.

But that is only the first step of this difficult but necessary. To extirpate the evil in the core they'll have to attend the Pegasus Path. The mythical horse with his magical but intimidating voice will guide the judged to see the consequences of his thinking and the actions that would occur from them.

If even the devastation for which they might be responsible, the pain, the outrage, the demise caused by them won't cure their mind satellite, they will be condemned to become Window Travellers: they will never live again but will be forced to only assist to the greatness of the other instead of accomplishing that greatness themselves. Not a pleasant thing to live for.

That's why there are only neverending stories to be heard from Utopia.
