The frightening historical horror film "Apostle" is set around 1905. The narrative centres on vagabond Thomas Richardson, who visits an isolated island to free his sister from a mysterious cult. "Apostle" is a viscerally dramatic and visually amazing film directed by Gareth Evans, who is best known for his work on "The Raid" series. Excellent production design and cinematography create a sense of dread and annoyance. Michael Sheen holds your attention as the cult leader, and Dan Stevens gives an excellent performance as Thomas. "Apostle" is a terrifying and vicious film that deserves more recognition, making it a must-watch hidden gem on Netflix.
