Mythical Creation

Dragon's Destiny

By WrenPublished 3 years ago 21 min read

The wind whispered through the leaves. The dragons swooned together, like two birds entering into a mating dance, far above the child. The tides turned instantaneously as the two dragons thundered down, landing right beside their target. “The most impactful piece of this marks backstory, is the emotional wounds. There is no fear of this abandonment or any other, therefore proceed with the utmost vigilance, Empirical dear.” Dominance spoke boldly to his partner while continuing to question the child’s existence in the woods. “What is your observation, report to me Empirical?” Dominance spoke intensely, while hovering over the child. Empirical was an elegant and highly sophisticated dragon. She began circling the boy with curiosity and prudence, all while dragging her claws into the sand, creating formulas. “Stating the problem, as well as the obvious, the boy is out of place. I sense a dichotomy in this creation. Forming a theory will take more consideration. Any error in the formulation of our hypothesis Dominance, will cause a flaw in the design of our entire assessment. I am collecting more data while simultaneously undertaking the child’s memories. The locus in question is heterozygous, both of the alleles are obligate alleles. Further experimentation will be required before interpreting the information, and or drawing any conclusions. Dominance I am finding both a subject and and object existing together.” Empirical continued mumbling to herself. Dominance struck the ground as a wake up call to mother earth. Scores of snakes slithered out of their hibernation with their heads erect, ready to strike. Elephants led their herds and other animals followed close behind all in unity, to higher grounds. The lions normally lead, but this day they followed with the intentions of protecting all. Dominance pulled the young child up, hooking his tail onto the targets hoodie. Turning, twisting and lifting his mark higher and higher, until they met eye to eye. “Reveal to me your identity, child.” The dragons potent breath blew the child's body harshly about. The little one remained unmoved by what was happening, dangling confidently before the spectacularly immense dragons. Rocking and swaying back and forth, the child began to speak. “Refer to me as neither child nor beast, for I am neither. You may address me as Très Puissant. My parents are A’ l’ouest and Ivoirienne Adonai from the house of Mayim or Raqia. You did not find me. I have found you. I have searched for you in all places fraught with danger.” Dominance’s eyes opened in wonder and his mouth opened in awe. The child, Très, miraculously freed his self from the barbed tail, plummeting downward, only to land on his feet. “Empirical,” Dominance exhaled her name in reverence. “Dominance we need more time. This is no child.” Empirical said this sucking in wind because Dominance forced his wing into her side. Empirical bowed down, both dragons began chanting in their native tongue, “We are humble servants.” To humans, their native language sounds like waves and water moving in and out, over the oceans bed. Reverently the dragons remained on the ground, while Très redesigned itself into a baby dragon. “Why are you so small?” Dominance laughed out loud, amused and puzzled by Très smaller statue. Cleary feeling vulnerable, Très replied heatedly, “I did not want to pour hours into research or creativity, crafting a magnificent creature that would reflecting either of you would have taken far too long. I will play only a small role in this elaborate dragons attire anyhow. “ After Très finished expalining, the grandest spectacle appeared as the three now soared on high, moving past trillions of stars to a place so sacred neither beauty nor wisdom could define her.

Shamayim was the original destination, the first heaven, but the child dragon redirected their journey. Guiding the dragons into the center of Raqia instead. “This was home to the ground and the living. Raqia is an atmospheric zone, not a place nor planet. It is not a heaven per say, it is instead place between the heavens. In Raqia, boundaries are ubiquitous.” Très cleared his throat, and turned his sad face away from the dragons as he spoke. “From the beginning the creations have been covered in what is now known as flesh.” Très taught in a rapidly passionate, yet direct way. Dominance moved his head in an uneasy manner as Très continued to explain. “To this level of in-between heavens, I was created.” The child dragon was now slowly becoming more of an expression than an actual being. “I am confused as to what is happening, I can no longer see you Très, but I know you are here. I feel your presence.” Dominance spoke in a whisper as he leaned on his partner and her knowledge. Dominance questioned the reflection of what was once before them. Empirical stepped up and spoke clearly, “Très is not a creation as we are my love. Our intelligence must flow somewhere between an intrinsic connection and into the minds eye.” Empirical spoke of things most knew nothing about. Très was now a glowing formless body of water reflecting the place named, Raqia. “Just as Raqia separates into two parts in scripture, Très is now acting as a boundary between us and something we must face Dominance, and soon.” Empirical didn’t like the words coming from her own mouth. “Perhaps we must pass through this subject of liminality, the threshold, if you will.” By the time Empirical realized what she was saying, she looked at Très for approval. Très was transforming into a ocean eddie, a mere black hole. Empirical searched for Dominances understanding of what was being taught to them. We must travel through this subject Dominance, we must…” Dominance cut her off immediately. “I certainly will not.” Dominance bellowed out desperately while digging his claws deeply into Raqia’s ocean bottom. “Mystifying and yet terrifying, I agree and understand your pause and dilemma Dominance. Understand my love, we can not escape this, we can not go back, not even the light would dare to go back.” Empirical knew the truth that laid open before them. Dominance took one last look at Empirical’s beautiful and brilliant face, then closed his eyes. Moving his wings at the greatest force and speed imaginable, the dragon began spiraling high above Raqia’s sky. Suddenly and with out warning, Dominance flung his self straight into the center of the black hole. Empirical and many other dragons followed close behind. “Open your eyes my fellow dragons.” Très stood with its back before them, facing the most amazing and outrageous battle. Dominance landed with fire flowing from him. He exclaimed loudly for all to hear, “I will protect each warrior with honor. These men are mere slaves to the greed of war. Thank you for being our light Très Puissant, and for finding us and bringing us to our fate. These human warriors are far from their nobility, and do not even know the great dangers lurking in the shadows of their own minds.” This was an area Dominance could speak with the voice of authority on, this was his gift. He continued, “Vice can not hide from virtue.” The words echoed from Dominances heart to his thoughts and finally settled upon his lips. Très cried out a demanding warning, and from every nook and cranny came forth hundreds of dragons. Out of sheer bewilderment Empirical spoke next. “How precarious, you found us all in the fraught of danger? ” Empirical’s voice trembled as she questioned all of wisdom. “I have.” Très voice held such sovereignty. Empirical flapped her wings readying herself for flight. “You shall not enter into this battle Empirical. We need you and your intelligence outside looking in.” Très voice tapered off as he slowly disappeared. Empirical obeyed.

Time seemed to stand still, before the dragons were finally hurled out of the darkness. Suddenly the black hole closed and Très fell to the ground and the blue skies with their clouds, began to float above them all again. “Why do I feel fear Très?” Empirical eyes could not abandon where the darkness once was, even though it no longer was open. Empirical spoke with such frail words. “You are feeling fear. Let the fear you feel be an opportunity to protect yourself from threats. Fear is what has shaped societies and our cultures, and these same fears teach us when to respect and how much to honor Empirical.” Très said this knowing very well that Empirical knew Dominance was still in the center of all darkness, his fate unknown. Empirical’s breathing was accelerating as she flew side to side trembling. Every muscle in her magnificent body was aching for her love. “Empirical, your fear is rational and understandable. We must however leave soon. You must not respond to, nor out of guilt, about what you feel. Dominance chose to do what he was created for. You merely encouraged him to move beyond his fears.” Très stretched his wing span to the size of Empirical’s body, wrapping both wings around her tightly. Deep inside the wings of Très, the baby dragon began describing in vivid and horrifying detail the truths of what might come to pass. “This is the final chapter in the story of Raqia, where the protagonist or antagonist will either win or lose everything including the heavens. If boundaries are not kept, nor respected given, we shall all lose. Humankind can not overcome the temptation to dominate. Dominance is our last chance, the last chance Empirical, our last hope. You and I must go now. We must let go. Empirical you of all dragons know, we must move in wisdom, not in emotion. Feelings are fleeting, knowledge is freedom.” While these words left Très mouth, Empirical remembered well that the dark hole was all that stood between Empirical’s decision to stay in fear or move forward with destiny, was decided long ago for her. She would stand in discipline and live out her fate, just as her lover chose to do so in battle. She did not dare turn back to look at the past, instead she plunged into the present, landing a few feet from where Très landed. “Thank you Empirical, for seeing this final battle as an opportunity for all. We can not move to the highest heavens without taking with us, the lowest. If we lose Raqia, we lose perspective and boundaries and the importance of both sides fighting. It is important to remember what we are all fighting for. What we are all willing to lose and what we will gain. For it is written Empirical, to whom much is given, much is expected.” Très bowed to Empirical. Empirical flew up and slammed down prostrate before the little dragon. Both Dragons emptying theirselves and connecting in their commitment and conviction. At that very moment Dominance body parted the clouds as he gently, like a leaf, drifted to the ground beside the two. All fear came too light, as Dominance did not breathe a single breath.

The next seventy two hours was critical. Each dragon that returned was injured far more than the one before. Healing physically and psychologically was the utmost important goal, for every warrior. Empirical pushed her limits and the limits of the treatment team. She constantly was refining and reflecting surgical techniques, all while keeping one eye on Dominance. “How are you doing Empirical?” Très softly asked. “The entity of the war wounds,” Empirical began to breakdown as she explored her thoughts. Très flew up, swinging one wing over Empirical’s mouth and the other on her shoulder for support. “Empirical, I have news, and you are going to embrace it. The battle has ended, we have secured Raqia.” Empirical tried to fight back her waves of emotion, but they got the best of her, as her body began to shake and tremble. “It is time,” Très said walking into Dominances space. “We must allow Fate to have her way, Mother Nature will be the only judge, She alone will rule over Dominance.” As Très said this, all support was unplugged from Dominance. His heart slowly stopped beating. Each dragon that had battled beside Dominance waited in the shadows for him to respond to life or death. With his last breathe Dominance uttered Empirical’s name. Empirical stood at his feet watching his spirit leave the badly beaten body. “Where will it go?” She asked Très. “Dominance soul will be resurrected at the final judgment, and he will be assigned to one of the three degrees of glory. He has earned a seat at the right hand of the Lord of the Waters. This position would be equivalent to your Dragon King or Queen. This will all take place on the third day after the burial. Great stories of Dominances sacrifice to the sacred are being told now, and will continue to be told through all generations. I will give you time with your eternal partner. Know this Empirical, one day the two of you will fly along side one another forever.” Très ordered everyone but Empirical out of the room, closing and locking the door behind them. Empirical slowly moved around to the right side of Dominance’s bed. Taking his enormous and powerful claw to her breast, she vowed, “We never shared the love we had for each other publicly. It came second to our work, our destiny and now your doom. I will live with this great regret, until we meet again my love.” She twirled her wedding ring off, and placed his on her claw, pressing hers back in place, in front. “You will forever be next to my heart.” With this she laid her head on him and wept. Très watched silently from above with Dominance soul. “Enter now or leave forever.” Très whispered. The dragons heart and mind were torn in two, as his soul vanished into thin air. Empirical felt emptiness taking the place of her grief and pain. The real emptiness came from the knowledge that so many knew Dominance by his power and influence over others, his boldness, yet Dominance was so much more. At their wedding his mother spoke about the day Dominance was born, he had been instructed from birth in the equality of all sentient life forms. This seed of truth grew in him. Most thought he stood boldly over them. They had no idea, he stood, boldly for them. Dominance had such a capacity to experience positive and the negative feelings, such as joy and pain. Empirical was feeling all of this and more, because the child she was carrying would only know his or her father, through the eyes of others. Her greatest sadness, he did not know she was with child.

Dominance was laid to rest in a garden of roses. Every brilliant color showed up that day. Beautiful butterflies fluttered by. The breeze carried the fragrance of honey suckle, in its bosom. The birds harmonized as if they were an orchestra paid to preform. It was a day for poets to create eloquent sonnets, to be read between lovers only. Empirical and Très were seated up front and the center of attention. They were in deep conversation when a warrior dragon approached Très, leaning over and whispering in the little dragons ear, “Your Very Power, a Leviathan is here claiming his intentions are of pure respect.” Très leapt up immediately to meet the leviathan at the back gates. “How dare you immerse from the abyss Leviathan.” Très words arrived before the little dragon even landed. “Très Puissant, my dear friend.” The leviathan disrespectfully smirked his words. “You have lost all rights to call me friend. Be gone.” With the flick of his wing Très punched the dark dragon and the leviathan crashed into a tree across the street. Picking hisself up and dusting off, he laughed mockingly. “Très, now-now, that was uncalled for. Indeed it was not called for at all. By the way how is Seraphim?” The Leviathan laughed. “Do not mix my name with mere angels Leviathan, or you will meet your maker.” Très sent a trigger warning first, as he flew directly towards the dark dragon. The Leviathan threw his wings over his head to protect himself. Très spoke with thunder and might. “Un-wing yourself and speak up, why are you here, it is not to pay respect to the dead. It is to gloat about the hunt to come.” Très was furious and ready to end the dark dragon. The Leviathan threw open his wings speaking loud and clear for all to hear. “Dragons go into battle with a set tactical plan and follow it no matter what the odds. Très, you allowing the death of Dominance was in no ones plan. There was no need for sacrifice. You stepped out of line my brother. Yet you allowed it so that your beloved home, Raqia would remain with you. Dominance murdered Queen Amire, whom we devoted ourselves too. Just as you Très murdered that young child in the woods, to lure the Dragons to you. What are we dragons to become of now Très, a lost race, roaming the universe in gloom and agony, seeking revenge as the mere humans do? Upon these words I retaliate, knowing I shall perish at your hands, and so that all Leviathans may have revenge on you, better yet for Queen Amire. If you do not kill me, Très…” before his final words left his mouth the Leviathan fell dead to the ground. Très turned around, and to his dismay Empirical had gust the fire out of her, that killed the beast dragon. “Empirical, you know not what you have done.” Très voice shook and chilled everything within miles of him “I do know. I took the mark off your heart and placed it upon my own. I did as Dominance would have done.” All the dragons stood behind Empirical in full support of her impulsive decision. Empirical stood confidently over the dead embodiment of chaos, that came in the name of all Leviathans. Empirical whispered to Très, “Did you kill that child in the woods Très?” She held her head high as the little dragon landed on her snout. “I did not. I can shift into any human form as long as I have had physical contact. He was not harmed in any physical or spiritual way or sense.” Très was insulted by Empirical, but not on purpose.

Months had past since Dominance body was laid to rest. Empirical was visiting his tomb when a king and three men arrived unexpectedly. “Who goes there?” She asked in an obviously and understandably frightened voice. “Don’t you recognize me Empirical?” It was Très voice hidden inside a Kings armor. Empirical bowed. “Please, that is certainly not necessary. I should be the one to kneel. Empirical, gentlemen. The survivor of none other than Dominance.” Shamayim introduction showed he had no longer any hard feelings, only respect and admiration for the dragon of pure logic. “Your Majesty. I am Laurent and this is Drago and Kai. We are at your service.” The three men all knelt down in front of her. “Très?” Empirical already knew why the men where there. She just needed her heart to catch up with reason. “Empirical your baby will be born in the oceans of Raqia, flowing into royalty.” Très was beaming with joy as he gave the good news. “Gentlemen please, stand. This is appreciated, but not necessary. I welcome all security, but Dominance and my child will be born in Ishtar, our home.” Empirical was not asking as much as she was informing. “Your Majesty our enemies and our problems may only be avoided by exercising good judgement.” Laurent bowed as his words filled the evening air. “With all due respect Très and Your Majesty Empirical, not everyone is capable of fighting off these Leviathan dark dragons, in order to get to where you need to be in life. The Dragons of Ishtar, or all of Babylon can not provide the protection we promise.” Drago also bowed before speaking. “The problems I will encounter and the struggles are of my own making. I am my own Dragon.” Empirical raised her voice in a commanding tone. Très waved the three men off, asking for a moment alone he transformed into the baby dragon before speaking. “Empirical this is not about the Leviathans. In the Waters of Raqia, Dominance will be allowed to witness the birth of his child.” Suddenly Empirical understood the radiance and joy as her flight muscles weakened as Très continued to explain. “All of the Lords of Raqia will be present. This includes your beloved.” Très gave her time and space to process this news. When she returned she asked, “Très you must have know our fate. Dominance fate. This is why you passed Shamayim and went to Raqia. This means you knew before that I was with child. Therefore you know our fate. Please tell me what will happen.” Empirical was now understanding levels of logic even higher than her own. “I can not tell you your fate for I do not know it. I act on orders and move in alignment of the Greatest will. Très was telling the truth, and the baby dragon had to be very careful of that truth. “Très in the woods you said, You did not find me. I have found you. I have searched for you in all places fraught with danger. You did not say you searched for all dragons. You were searching for Dominance, me and our child. Is the child you came in the form of, was it our child? Will our child be able to change forms as you are able to.” Empirical was now reading Très like an open book. “Stop at once. Guards take her.” The baby Dragon transformed back into a king, as he ordered her to be placed under their care and authority. When the men rounded the corner to escort Empirical she rose up and prepared to do what it took to remain free. To her surprise all three men transformed into dragons much larger than her, and way more powerful. She was put into a deep sleep and transported to an unknown location.

“Dragons and Angels chose the side they would serve since before the beginning of creation. Now it is time for all creatures of "original sin," whose naked selves are the very essence of sin itself, to decide individually whom you shall serve. There will be no more wandering around in the unconscious, seeking whomever you may devour. The dragons will make sure free will reigns. Most humans were not prepared to pick a side, they preferred the gray area. The line had been drawn in the sand by the claw of Empirical, when she killed the Leviathan. There was to be no room for limbo nor lingering now. Dominance presence was in the air as Empirical and her team of doctors and nurses prepared for the royal birth. The three dragons stood guard over her and the child. Empirical was feeling anxious. “Très has redesigned into human form, as a child.” The doctors and nurses were all gossiping amongst the staff. Empirical looked down through the clouds for Très. Très looked up at her. The love and respect between the two had grown over time quite immensely. She remembered what Très had said at Dominance funeral, “No greater love has any creature, than to lay down their life for their friends.” Empirical suddenly realized Très would also live a sacrificial life. This time around she would make sure everyone knew the love they shared. It wasn’t a romantic love as she and Dominance had. It was an unconditional love. A love that brought healing. Nostalgia made Empirical crave the past.and it made her sleepy. She dreampt about the day her and Dominance found Très all alone. She thought about dragons and their reputations as aggressors and fire breathers. For all dragons there is only one dirt road leading in and out. Très was not a dragon or human. Dominance recognize the God in the dragon that day, not Empirical. How had she missed that. She was learning from her partner even after his death. Empirical needed to not just learn about life, but begin to live life. Several months had passed since the day in the woods, the day that Empirical and Dominance came upon that child and decided what side of the battle they belonged to. Do not to worry because dragons do not age linearly like other creatures. Instead they age randomly. This means that their bodies are not affected by the passage of time, making them effectively immortal. However each dragon still requires the basic resources of any living species. This puts them in the hierarchy just below the angels. The angels only require light. Empirical jumped to her feet from a deep sleep. “Dominance is not dead. Dominance is not dead. I heard you Très, you whispered to Dominance, enter now, or leave forever.” Empirical repeated to herself clutching the rings on her finger together. She blew open the windows and took off in flight darting towards Très. She raced through one black hole after another. Until finally she tumbled through one that landed her beside Très. Très immediately redesigned into dragon form. “Empirical I have been waiting for this moment.” Très flew above her almost singing praises. “Why, where, what, how?” These were the words Empirical repeated over and over to him. “Through the light Empirical. Dominance traveled through the light. If he chose to come back through the darkness he would have perished forever. He lives.” Très bellowed out. “Très why would you allow me to think Dominance is dead? Why did you allow so much agony?” Empirical was idistraught and her body went into labor.

“How long was I asleep.” Empirical asked a nurse. The nurse left the room calling for the doctors. She rolled over only to find Très asleep on a chair beside her. “Très.” She gently called his name. As his eyes opened he could not help but smile. Her beautiful olive eyes, with gold flakes dancing, scanned him for information. “Très where is my baby?” She begged to know. “The eggs are with their father.” Très informed her of something she should have known. Not the plural of eggs, but the where abouts of them. “With their father. How many eggs made it safely?” Empirical’s eyes filled with tears of joy. “Three. Three eggs lofted beautifully and safely. Dominance has a commanding ferocity that will keep all dragons and other beings away. Empirical knew that the babies would be safe and that her mission was finished. “Très,” She wanted his attention and truth, “I understand now that one of our babies is not human nor beast. I don’t know or understand how or why. I understand you had to find us, and the battle was to lead Dominance into one side and to keep me here on earth. I understand I couldn’t have laid the eggs had I died. I understand that you are not human nor beast. Are you God?” Empirical was drifting in and out of sleep but very attentive. “I am a Dragon God, a dispenser of rain. I have command over all water. I am not the God of all creation. Dragon Gods all have unique gifts. Mine is the turning into a black hole and transporting other from one place to another.” Très was gentle in explaining. “You become the in-between like Raqai?” Empirical was mesmorized by the intelligence God the creator used to create and overcome. “No, I become a black hole that others can move through. Raqia is the in-between. The battle Dominance entered was to keep you and your unborn alive. He was not afraid nor unsure. To be honest with you, he already knew the plan. It was set in motion long ago and explained at length. We could not dare tell you, and risk you losing your children. We did not want you to live with such anxiety and risk anything. You didn’t talk Dominance into moving through me. Dominance only allowed you to explain so that you would allow him to go and go alone.” Très stood up and transformed into the little dragon. “Empirical, in a moment I will become the black hole one last time. You must decide which side you will remain loyal to. You may stay here, or go there. You have been asleep for eight months.” As Très spoke these words Empirical knew that her eggs would have already hatched. “Will I ever meet my baby dragon God.” She asked desperately wanting the answer to be yes. “No, I am afraid your baby dragon God, Lord of the East winds, her name is Tiam, she has been taken.” Très spoke through tears knowing this would hurt the elegant dragon mother deeply. “Tiam, my baby dragon girl, and the others how are they?” Empirical asked with caution. “Tiam, Caille and Dom, two girls and a boy, they are all healthy. Tiam is sitting on her throne, being taught quickly, she is as intelligent as her mother. Caille is as elegant and beautiful as you. Dom looks just like his father, spitting image.” Très boasted about the hatchlings. “Très, after I travel though you, I will never see you again, will I.” Empirical knew the answer, she just needed to ask. “No you will not. This is my destination. The beginning and end.” Très stood strong. “Then I shall stay here. You shall not perish this day.” Empirical smiled a loving and enduring smile reassuring Très that his life would not end this day.
