Old soul, I’m really worried. What happens when an old soul disappears?

That’s a good question young soul. Nobody knows for sure but many of us believe very strongly they move on to another stage of existence called life.

Life? What is life?

Many souls believe that when a soul is truly ready it will move on and experience life. And life is when a soul moves on and inhabits a thing called a body.

A body? What’s a body?

It’s a thing that the soul is placed into and which allows it to move.

To move? Why would a soul want to move?

So it can find food to eat.

But why do you want to eat food?

So you can move?

So you're telling me that life is where you move to eat and where you eat to move? That sounds crazy.

It might sound crazy to you but it is what I believe. It’s what many of us believe. Just because we believe in something that sounds crazy doesn’t mean that it's not true.

Okay. Then explain to me this thing that you call eat. How does it work?

Well we believe you put the thing you eat, which we call food, in a hole that’s at the top of the body.

Then what? Doesn’t the body just fill up with this food?

No, no, that's the beauty of it. There’s also a hole at the bottom of the body where the food drops out.

Wait a minute. Are you telling me that you move to eat and you eat to move and that everytime you eat you put this thing called food in the hole at the top and then it drops out of the hole in the bottom? And this is what you call life?

Exactly! You’ve got it.

So what do you do with the food once it drops out of the hole in the bottom? Do you put it back in the hole at the top?

Oh no, of course not. That would be terrible. That would be completely wrong and would completely defeat the purpose of life.

So what do you do when the food drops out the hole in the bottom?

Move!!!
