Mindshift
The Origin of Mindstream, Kinetic, and Spectrum

James was never the type that believed in wishing upon a falling star. But this one fell right in his backyard. He was looking out his bedroom window when it hit. His parents had already set the alarm, so he had to wait until morning to look for it. He searched for nearly an hour, but then there it was, as clear as day. As he reached for it, it started to glow for a moment. He showed it to his mother, but she believed that it was only a rock. She would have told him to throw it away, but she had a pet rock when she was a child.
James invited Andre and Timothy, his two best friends, to come see it.
“A falling star fell in my backyard last night.”, he said. “It was glowing and everything.”
“Uh un! That’s just a rock.”, said Timothy.
“I must say”, said Andre. “It is a nice rock.”
“Watch this.”, said James. He reached out to touch the rock and it started to glow. He touched it and Andre and Timothy heard it hum.
“Did you hear that?”, James asked.
“Yes”, they said. “It h…”
“It spoke to me.”
The two friends looked at each other as a beam of light came out of the rock and struck all three of them. They all fell to the floor.
James got up first. Then Andre, a few seconds later.
“I can’t believe you said that.”, James said.
“I didn’t say anything. I thought it, but didn’t say it.”
The noticed Timothy on the floor. Andre reached his hand out and Timothy lifted off the ground. As he stood, he disappeared. He vanished for five seconds and then reappeared.
“I have more to share with you.”, the rock said.
