Method
An interview with a famous actress uncovers a dark and sinister secret
Delia Patrick had been working in entertainment for five years as an interviewer and reporter, patiently waiting for her big break. Finally, she received it in the form of an opportunity to interview one of the most known stage actresses in the public eye: Belinda Adams. Delia was given a briefing on Belinda by her boss, Winona Wales, but she didn't need one. Delia had known all about Belinda's career; she is internationally known, having performed in stages in cities such as Los Angeles, New York City, London, and Paris. However, that was not what Winona meant.
"She's a bit on the eccentric side. Very... method."
Delia had figured that Belinda had some eccentricities. For one, she was always seen wearing sunglasses, even during the evening. As far as being "method," Delia figured that most stage actors usually took their roles seriously, but the main thing that stood out is that Belinda requested that this interview take place at her home, late in the evening, at around midnight at that.
Delia arrived at Belinda's lavish home, and before she could ring the doorbell, the front door opened. As Delia made her entrance, she simply looked around at her surroundings, and was in absolute awe. Various statues, a pair of fountains outside the house, and quite a large self-portrait.
"Miss Adams?" asked Delia. "I'm Delia Patrick, your midnight interviewer."
"Please, Delia. No need for formalities."
Delia looked to the top of the stairway and saw Belinda appear and slowly walk down as she made her presence felt. She had her shades on, along with an elegant black gown, and gave a bit of a smirking expression as she approached Delia. Belinda shook Delia's hand and, with geniality in her voice, said:
"Call me Belinda."
"Belinda," said Delia, "I just want to tell you what an honor it is to interview you. I've been in this business for five years, and I know how acclaimed you are as a stage actress."
"Thank you so much, Delia," replied Belinda. "It pleases me to see someone who is such a fan of my work. As you have probably heard, I do tend to dive deep into my roles."
"I was told that you are quite a method actor," said Delia.
"Method," Belinda said in a bit of a coy manner. "So that's what they're calling it. Usually they call actors like me... well ..."
"Eccentric?" asked Delia.
"Yeah, that," replied Belinda. "Though, let's face it: that word is a nice way of saying that I'm off my rocker." Delia was a bit surprised over Belinda's statements. From what Delia heard about Belinda, she was led to believe that she could possibly be a bit arrogant, but what Delia saw from Belinda was some relatable conduct from the actress.
"I sense some curiosity from you, Delia," said Belinda. "You want to know how really 'method' I am, do you?"
"Well, I do know a few things," said Delia. "I know that when you played a detective in one of your projects, you actually did some consulting police work, is that right?"
"That is correct," answered Belinda.
"And you actually worked a period as a hockey goalie for a role, right?" asked Delia.
"It was hard, but I actually stopped nine shots," said Belinda.
"And there's also a trip you took to the Carpathian Mountains some time ago," said Delia. "Was that for a role as well?"
"Yes," said Belinda. "My all-time favorite role at that: Elizabeth Bathory." At that moment, Delia's expression changed over hearing that name mentioned by Belinda.
"Wait, Elizabeth Bathory? Wasn't she a...?"
Before Delia could finish that sentence, Belinda removed her sunglasses, revealing piercing red eyes, while also flashing a set of sharp fangs. It all came together in a shocking and horrifying package: Belinda Adams was not only a big time stage actress, she was also a vicious vampiress.
"As I said before, Delia," Belinda hissed, "I like to take a deep dive into my roles."
On the following night, Winona Wales was set to leave her office, when she suddenly heard a familiar voice close to her.
"Hello, Winona."
"Delia?" said Winona. "Is that you? Why are you seated in the dark like that?"
"I apologize," said Delia. "I hadn't been too well, hence why I couldn't get back to you sooner regarding the Belinda Adams interview."
"And I see you have shades on," Winona said with a slight laugh. "So how was it? Everything you dreamed of?"
"Oh, it was, Winona," Belinda said as she stood up. "But you don't have to take my word for it." At that precise moment, Winona turned around and saw Belinda appear to her, flashing her vampire fangs at a shocked Winona.
"Delia?!" exclaimed Winona. "What's going on?"
"We know what you've been saying about me," snarled Belinda. "Don't we, Delia?"
"The names, the rumors, the disrespect!" said Delia, who flashed her own vampire fangs at her boss. "You wanted me to help you make Belinda out to be a joke. I'm a serious interviewer, sweetheart. Consider this my resignation." Delia later lunged at Winona and drained as much blood as she could from her now former boss, while Belinda snickered in evil glee.
"Did I do well?" Delia asked as she licked her blood-covered lips. "Are you pleased?"
"You have pleased me so much, Delia," Belinda said, right before she passionately kissed Delia right on her lips. "But she's only the beginning. With you at my side, dear girl, we will make sure that everyone puts respect on the name Belinda Adams."
