Me and the bright night

A sad story

By Wady DesPublished 9 months ago 2 min read

The bed is next to the window in my room. There is a full moon in the sky.

The whole room was filled with unbridled light. Before the year was over, my mother moved the furniture around. In turn, the bed came next to the window.

As I was staring at the moonlight with my face buried in my pillow, I suddenly heard a muffled cry. Before I could listen carefully, it disappeared somewhere. I got up and looked around, but nothing had happened. The tired city was deep in sleep. For some reason, the fox wasn't calling today either. Maybe he was also surprised to see the city drenched in moonlight today.

As I was going back to sleep, I suddenly saw the lights of the two neighboring apartments on. By now I understood where the sound was actually coming from.

Ramani is a mother of two doctors before she turns forty-five. She was recently honored with the Ratnagarbha Award. The boys are pieces of gold. Their mother is their dearest friend.

Yet she weeps for her dead husband every night, burying her face in her pillow. That's how love is.

I couldn't have understood the impact a man can have on a woman who got married in her teens without seeing her. After losing her husband, she weeps profusely every full moon.

The lady heard that on a full moon night, the man broke his shyness and said he loved her. So even today, when the full moon comes, she bursts into tears because the man is not by her side.

The sound of crying from another apartment broke my meditation. The twenty-year-old girl ran away from her lover after four years of love and got married. And since then, she has been tortured every night by the drug-addicted dog. Suddenly, the sound of crying is heard as the man's hand suddenly leaves her mouth.

Even though the entire city is illuminated by the full moon, the girl's life is filled with darkness.

Strange moonlight! The sound of crying as she watches the full moon alone in one flat and a different picture in the flat next to her.

The only reason I dive into the realm of fantasy, mixing truth and falsehood, is to see the light of the full moon as I see it. Some happiness in the world can only be found by being selfish. But I still haven't been able to do it. I can't become a non-human for one night.

Sometimes I think that some absences make life beautiful. Whether it's of a person or an emotion.
