The night was quiet, an eerie calm settled over the town. Ava sat on the edge of her bed, her heart racing with anticipation. The wind outside howled softly, carrying with it the scent of rain that had yet to fall. She looked out of the window, her eyes tracing the outline of the old mansion on the hill.
