Once upon a time, there was a little jar with a little spark. It existed all alone in a realm of utter darkness and shadows. Until, one day, the Creator became awake and looked at this strange thing.

"Who are you?" came the voice of the Creator across the space of the Void.

"Who is 'you'?" the Jar and Spark answered, confused by what words could even mean for no one had ever spoken to the little jar and little spark.

"You mean, who am I?" answered the Creator.

"Oh, so that is what you call me?" the Jar and Spark replied. "Is my name "I"?"

"Heavens no!" the Creator laughed so hard the sky began to crack open ever so slightly.

"Am I "Heaven" or am I "No"?" the Spark and Jar asked in confusion.

"Hmmm, it does appear that you have no idea who or what you are," the Creator told the creature. "And, I had thought that all life and all semblance of anything was swept away when the last Apocalypse and Unveiling occurred and swept away Heaven and Earth. Well, it's been such a long time, I do not recall who created you Little Jar and Little Spark. So, this is what I shall do. I will give you a body, which is the Jar and I shall give you a Soul, which is the Spark. You can go and dwell on the new place where I shall place you. You will craft yourself, and perhaps, your kind will reach up to heaven and become like unto the angels of light. Or, perhaps, you will push yourselves down deep into the depths of Hell and become likened unto a Lie. This is the Choice I give you, Little Jar, Little Spark."

The Little Jar, with the Little Spark, awoke on the seashore. But no longer did it have a body of glass and flame, but rather one of flesh and fiery passion burning within their mind and body.

"Well, Little Flame. You are hard to ignore in this body of flesh. Surely, you will be the guide of my life from here on out and nothing will dissuade us from returning to the realm of Heaven and the angels of Light. What shall we do first, Little Spark?"

"We must learn to use our heart," the Spark stated. "If we can use our heart, and thus unite mind, body, and soul as one, we can be reunited."

"Of course!" the Little Jar in the body of a man exclaimed excitedly. "I will plant a garden so I can share in the abundance of the Earth and make it more beautiful. I will create and beautify, just as the Creator."

So, humanity began. But with planting, came the urge to label. Even though the Little Spark warned the Little Jar not to label, because when we label, we split one thing from another, the Little Jar ignored it.

That was the first time the Little Jar ignored the Little Spark. And every time a new label appeared, there appeared a new version of the Little Jar, until there were thousands and then millions of them walking the planet. Each one a split consciousness. The Spark tried to call out to the human and remind them of how they are all the same Little Jar with a Little Spark, but they forgot. They became too obsessed with filling themselves, just as one might fill a jar.

But what they don't realize is that the more they cram inside the Little Jar, the less the Little Spark can burn. And pretty soon, the Little Spark will disappear altogether and all that will remain is an empty shell of a discarded Little Jar.

"People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own souls. They will practice Indian yoga and all its exercises, observe a strict regimen of diet, learn the literature of the whole world - all because they cannot get on with themselves and have not the slightest faith that anything useful could ever come out of their own souls." Absolutely beautiful writing, and what a lesson to be learned. Love this part "But what they don't realize is that the more they cram inside the Little Jar, the less the Little Spark can burn. And pretty soon, the Little Spark will disappear altogether and all that will remain is an empty shell of a discarded Little Jar."
