Life Lessons for Strength and Purpose

20 principles for building confidence and respect

By Rohitha LankaPublished 10 months ago 2 min read

Listen carefully....

1. Respect yourself first.

When you lose self-respect, you're a pawn of another's game.

2. First impressions are one of the things you get right.

Work on yourself, hit the gym, take care of your appearance. Not for them, but for you. Discipline precedes confidence.

3. Practice self-control. When a man is able to control his desires for sex and food, he has overpowered many of his weaknesses. Power is Discipline!

4. Your friends have their own battles to fight.

Stop expecting them to save you every time. Everyone is battling an invisible war.

5. Data are current to October 2023. If you put her on a pedestal she will look down on you A king does not ask for loyalty. He earns it with force and intent.

6. It is always the ones closest to you that betray you. Act with trust and wisdom. Your deepest wounds will not be inflicted by those you don't know.

7. Until you fucking do, they'll laugh at you, doubt you, dismiss you. Keep building. With that said, I hope your response is worth it.

8. Short-term sacrifices, long-term equilibrium. Fun not had today is no loss if it means a better tomorrow.

9. Weak people pursue happiness, strong people pursue purpose. People who build, create and contribute. Don't just consume.

10. A real man does not plead for love, attention or respect. He deserves it with his actions and presence.

11. Your time and energy are precious. Don't spend them on boring, entitled people with nothing to offer.

12. A woman can smell a weak man a mile away. Once she sees the need then you are out with no respect. Don't chase. Lead.

13. In your eyes, if she is not losing you, you are interchangeable. Be the man she respects, not the man she endures.

14. Life is merciless. Make one mistake, and you can lose years of progress. Walk carefully and wisely.

15. Never negotiate passion. If you need to beg for love, respect or attention, it's already lost. Severing ties with your dignity intact.

16. It is up to you to monitor your mental health. Acceptance of the reality, getting a plan in mind, and holding, firm when you are down. No one is coming to save you.

17. If you lower your standards, you'll just end up with mediocrity. Defend your peace and purpose at all costs.

18. Pain is the best teacher. Good days, bad days are worth much more than good days. Learn from every struggle.

19. In this world, you earn respect, you do not command respect. Train yourself to be the type of man people look up to, not the type of man people pity.

20. A man on a mission is hard to resist. Go out and find your reason for being, and go after it and do not let anything distract you.
