“Lola!” Carly shakes me awake. “Lola, wake up! We got to go.”

“Huh?”I’m barely awake when I get yanked out of bed. “What’s going on?”

“We have to go, we don’t have time for this, they're coming.”

Just waking up and processing what’s happening; I’m watching Carly frantically pack a duffle bag and, see a backpack. I didn’t ask questions I just grabbed some stuff and followed out the door. In the car I drive and question Carly on what’s going on she explained: “I took this babysitting gig from a man named Matt Potter-”

“Isn’t he the guy-” I tried to ask before Carly continued “The corporate guy who had set my dad up for fraud at this company,” She continued. “Because this guy is richer than God he got off with, my father sentenced to 7 years in prison. We lost everything. I took what’s owed.”

I’m not sure if I was still sleeping or stunned was what’s happening. Before I could say anything the whole street lit up with blue and red lights and, we were surrounded by police cars. Guns drawn on us, police shouting for us to drop everything and put our hands up.
