Just Another Mouse
A micro-fiction about more than cheese....

“Remember,” Meek’s father, Murk, squeaked at him, “Think positive. Give your best. Don’t complain about your bit of cheese! Mindset determines happiness.”
Yet, Meek would often watch his father grumble into their two-hollow home complaining about life.
Years later, Meek’s father visited to check on him.
“Meek,” he cooed, “How are you? Your mother worries you aren’t doing well. Don’t you remember? Mindset determines happiness! No mouse, no special crumb will.”
Meek glared at him…. “Remember? Sure, but squeaking a few ideas at a pup doesn’t mean you’ve taught them…. Don’t you see, I’m just another mouse….. exactly like you.”
