Jumping Timelines
Premonition or Something else?
An online user shared this narrative. I was driving along the PCH, a very long highway up the coast of California, at precisely 8:15 PM when I heard a car horn blaring. I turned around and saw a car coming straight towards my car and myself. Suddenly, I'm sitting on the ground, very confused, and a headache is starting to come on. It's been about a week, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the possibility that I might have died in another timeline and just jumped to this one background. Though I was not hit, my car was not hit, and I was still breathing heavily, so I was obviously freaked out. I got back up and checked my phone to see if I had called my mom because this was crazy, but there was no history of me doing so. I tried to calm myself down and decided to head home right away, thinking that perhaps this was a premonition of something I didn't want to relive. When I got home, my mom asked me why I had called and then hung up. Is it just me, or am I jumping across timelines? There are millions of stories that are similar to this one; this can't be a coincidence, can it?

Whoa, talk about a wild ride along the PCH! The idea of jumping across timelines is like a plot twist straight out of a sci-fi movie. It's like reality took a detour into the unknown. Whether it's a cosmic glitch or just a surreal experience, it's one of those stories that leaves you questioning the fabric of reality. 🤯
I've done Time Travel before but quite like this. Most of my stories are about going back in time in some way or another. This is an interesting idea, Jumping between timelines. I think you have a good concept and idea. but it needs more to ground the reader in one place and more backstory. I suspect more details between the two timelines would help. I had to read it several times before It made sense to me, and even then it feels like it's not finished. There should be another shoe to drop somehow. But it's a good idea and start. Build on this and see where it takes you, in a longer-form story. My "Tea for the Chosen Two" is a time travel story if you are interested in seeing another take on the theme.
