Journey into the dark
One night can change your life forever.
A year ago, something extraordinary unfolded in my life.
Final exams were looming, and I needed more preparation than ever. Usually, our school library would shut its doors at five, but with exams approaching, it transformed into a late-night haven, open until midnight for the eager students like me.
My house wasn't far from school, but I preferred the serene library ambiance to study. On this particular day, I embarked on my study journey at six in the evening, deep into the night. Time slipped away, and before I knew it, the clock struck ten. I was used to leaving around 8 pm, but this late, the library was deserted, submerged in absolute silence.
With just 10 to 15 minutes of work left, I resolved to finish quickly and head home. I was engrossed in my studies when an eerie sound interrupted my concentration – a faint, haunting limping. Startled, I bolted from the library.
Beyond the library's doors, there lay a long corridor. Turning right at its end would lead to the school exit. As I advanced down this corridor, an unsettling sight greeted me – a woman standing at its far end. I couldn't identify her, but an unsettling feeling crept over me with each step closer.
As I neared her, a sense of unease grew so overwhelming that I blurted out, "Who's there?" In an instant, she vanished into thin air. I heaved a sigh of relief and resumed my exit.
However, exhaustion and hunger began to grip me, making each step a struggle. Oddly, the usually bustling street outside was eerily deserted, a stark contrast to its typical activity, even during the night. Fear consumed me, and I kept my gaze glued to the ground.
As I approached my home, an inexplicable shadow stretched toward me, despite the absence of anyone around. Trembling, I lifted my head to witness a woman walking ahead of me. Her appearance sent shivers down my spine – I found her very strange she looked as if she was disabled and that she was having trouble walking and she was walking so slowly that I caught up to her in no time now I was so close to her that I could see her clearly she was wearing tattered dirty clothes and her hands and feet were twisted also her hair looked very messy I found it so strange that I stopped in my tracks my gut was telling me over and over not to go any closer to this woman I didn't even have the courage to overtake her and walk on.
Paralyzed by fear, I remained frozen. She then asked me a strange question: "Have you seen my daughter?" I couldn't utter a word due to shock my brain went numb I didn't know how to answer her strange question
Panic gripped me, and without thinking, I pointed vaguely in a random direction. I just wanted her to go away. She limped towards the direction I indicated, eventually disappearing from sight.
Terrified that she might reappear, I sprinted as fast as my weary legs could carry me, desperate to find help. I heard her distant scream, "She's here!" Then, darkness enveloped me.
When I regained consciousness, I discovered my neighbor had found me unconscious and brought me home. He revealed that in 1998, a 32-year-old woman named Agatha, who had a 10-year-old daughter at Eden Hill School, tragically lost her child in an accident. Agatha's ghost had been seen wandering the school and its surroundings, forever searching for her lost daughter, clinging to hope for their reunion.
And with that chilling tale, my extraordinary encounter with the supernatural unfolded one year ago. Stay tuned with me as I unfold more…
