Jason and the Argonauts.

Jason and the argonauts is an interesting myth about the journey of Jason who is on a quest to get the golden fleece and on the journey there happen a lot of things that make them almost lose sight of their gol and the reason they go on this journey is because Jason has been challenged by his uncle that if Jason gets the golden fleece then he would step out of the way and let Jason become king I would say that this story is similar to The golden voyage of Sinbad because both have are protagonist look for something magical in the Argonotica they search for the golden fleece but in Sinbad they search for a lost land where the fountain of destiny resides and both of them go on a voyage to accomplish this and both of the do it because it is commissioned by that countrys ruling figure but the different is that in the Argonotica it is Jasons uncle that we could consider the antagonist while in Sinbad it is his allie, another similarity that is apparent is that in the story of Sinbad is that there is multiple heroes but I wouldn’t say that they are as well known but in the Argonotica there are many both heros and gods, they are also very well known by many. Another thing that happened during Jasons journey was that he was often helped by Athena the god of wisdom by for example geting the greatest craftsmen Argo build a strong and fast boat for Jason and the argonauts to use on there voyage it is almost alike the Odyssey because the protagonist of that story was also a favorite of Athena so he also got helped by Athena disguised as the prince's grandfathers friend to convince the prince to call a meting off the assembly. Lots of things happens during Jason journey for example they stumble upon a lot of different kings and they also end upp killing about five of those kings.

I would say that this myth is popular mostly because of the characters that follows Jason because most of them are heroes in there one wright who have already been establish in previous myths and storys but another thing that makes this story so popular is that Jason is just a normal human he isn’t perfect, he makes plenty of mistakes along the way even mistakes that causes his crew to question him a couple of times and Jason barely dose anything on his own so he Neds constant help by the rest of his crew and at the time it was mostly normal to have the hero of the story be able to do anything on his own so in that way this story is different from other myths and another thing that makes it different is that there are a lot of different heros and gods that take part in this story when there were lousily only a select number of character and only one was a hero with a god that might help him on his journey. I would say that the fans are mostly young wiper snappers from the age of 15 to the rest of their life because I wouldn’t rely say that it has a limit to how old you can be to read this classical story.

There are planta of different community’s about this but one of them are called Worldwide Greeks and this community is about charing different storys from the greek myths and even sharing where to find this and even what they think makes that particular myth interesting they even talk about different places that have been used in myths, I also notis that someone compared a movie and how accurate it was to the real myth it is based on. I aslo found another community called Greeka and in that community you can find complete myths but the community mostly share pictures of different typ of sculptures and architecture.

Jason and the argonauts have been featured in movies, books for example the heroes of Olympus where only Argo 2 is present and that is a replica of the original Argo that was made by the help of Athena that pointed that task to the master craftsmen Argo in Jason and the argonauts and that is the ship Jason used to go on that journey but the Argo 2 was maid by the help of another god called Hera and she appointed this task to another crafted called Leo Valdez and there is a lot of other references to them in games like god of war 2 where Jason is an insignificant character because you only se a hand sticking out of a monsters mouth crying the golden fleece and other storys Jason is also featured in poems. The movie based on the myth of the same name the production company of the movie was Morning-side productions and they have also ben known to have produced other movies that were based on myths in the past while the book was written by Apollonios Rhodios or more accurately he wrote the poem, there are also musik that is based on the story of Jason and the argonauts an example is Birdhouse in your soul and that only contains sam referenser towards Jason, I would say that I can’t se a bright future fore Jason and the argonauts because the movie has already been made so I can’t se a reason to make another one but the only thing that can continue Jason and the argonauts are the fans but the myth is always going to exist and maybe even references towards that story can show up a little hear and there.
