It's a World

It started off as a small seed. Something so small. But holds so much power and strength. Round and brown. Plant it in a small hole in the ground. And give it some water. Show the little plant some love. Visit it each day. To make sure that it is getting along just fine. Sit down next to the little plot of land. Read it some lovely stories about adventures and action. Let the excitement soak in. Such joy and wonder. What the world awaits it as it grows nice and strong. So eager to grow and see all that it will accomplish. And it will accomplish so much. But don’t forget, it still needs water and sun.

There is a lot that is needed to take care of it. But it will be worth it in the end. Definitely be worth it. Shield the growing beauty from the weather. As it gets windy, shield it’s wondrous leaves from blowing away. As it hails, shield its frail body from the dangers. Don’t let it get hurt.If it rains, skip a day to water it. Overwatering it can cause it some harm. It will block it’s tiny lungs from getting air. Yes, it will need air. As it provides air to us as well. It will mature with time. Just as most things in life do. It is a process. So one must possess nature with patience. Otherwise, it might not have a chance. Patience.

Come visit it. See how much it has progressed. It will start as something no taller than your toe. Then suddenly be right up to your knee. The leaves will dance and tickle you, to welcome you back. And thank you for giving it life. So green and pure. Then days will go by and it will suddenly be up to your waist. How much it has grown. Look down upon it as a proud momma would look down on her children. And be proud! As all your hard work and effort is paying off. Soon the fruit of the effort will show.

Life will try to show its ugly side sometimes. But should not let it win. Keep strong. Keep strong for the once small seedling. Your strength will become its strength. More time will pass. But this too will pay off. Did I not say it will take time? I did not provide how much time exactly. Just time. Some take little time. Others take a while. But do not fear. That time is drawing ever closer. Once the next visitation comes along, it will be taller! So tall the top cannot be seen from the ground. The sprouting of more leaves and branches.

Soon, as it begins to reach the prime of it’s adulthood, notice other such things are growing on it. Flowers. Beautiful flowers. White and pure. What could these flowers possibly be? There is a surprise waiting. What could this surprise be? Oh the anticipation is frustrating! But as I've said, patience is a virtue. So we must do some more waiting. As unfortunate as that may be. But it will be worth it in the end!

Suddenly one day little fruits start to sprout out all over the tree. They are pears! Sweet pears. But we must not eat them yet. They are not ripe for the picking just yet. But they will be. The day will come where they can be picked. Once they are picked and washed, they can be eaten. How sweet and juicy they are. And they were worth the wait. You did this. You gave the tree life. You watched it grow from a small seedling. The effort and time paid off.

The pear tree isn’t just a pear tree. It is a friend. Continue to visit it. Continue to read it stories. It can still know all the amazing stories that go on in the world. All the imaginations and creations. The soothing stories will help it progress into the world. Even though it is mature, there are still some things that it can learn. It is your friend. It is family.
