"It Looks Normal… But the Ending Will SHOCK You 😳"

"What starts as an ordinary scene takes a turn no one saw coming."

The sun was setting behind the school as students poured out, laughing and talking about their weekend plans. Everything seemed normal. Just another Friday evening. Among the crowd was Rishi — 16, quiet, always sitting in the second row, the kind of boy teachers liked but students barely noticed.

He walked alone, his old backpack swinging by his side, a soft smile on his face. At first glance, you wouldn’t think anything was unusual. Just another student heading home after a long week.

He stopped at the gate, looked around, and pulled out a folded note from his pocket. He hesitated, then slipped it into the side pocket of a red scooter parked under the big banyan tree — the one belonging to Anaya, the most popular girl in class.

The Note

Later that night, Anaya found the note while taking out her books. It was written in neat handwriting:

"Hi Anaya,

You don’t know me well, but I’ve known you since 8th grade.

You’re kind. You once gave your lunch to a stray dog outside the gate.

You smiled at the janitor when others ignored him.

You’re the kind of good that people don’t talk about enough.

I just wanted to say... thank you, for being light in a world that often feels dark.

– R."

Anaya read it twice. Then again. She tried to remember who “R” could be. Rishi? Rohit? Rajat?

She wasn’t sure, but something about the message felt… important.

Monday Morning

When Anaya entered the class, she casually asked her friend, “Hey, do you know someone named Rishi?”

Her friend shrugged. “Oh, that quiet guy? Always alone?”

Anaya nodded slowly, “Yeah. I think he wrote me something.”

That day, she noticed Rishi for the first time. He didn’t look up from his notebook. He didn’t seem to notice her at all.

During lunch, she walked up to him.

“Hey,” she said.

Rishi looked up, startled.

“I got your note,” she continued, softly.

He blinked. “I’m sorry— I didn’t mean to make it weird.”

“No, no. It wasn’t weird,” she said, smiling. “It was… kind. Thank you.”

For the first time, Rishi smiled — a real one.

The Days That Followed

Over the next week, things started changing. Anaya began saying hi to Rishi in the halls. They shared notes. One day, they sat together during lunch. Everyone noticed — some whispered, some laughed, but Anaya didn’t care.

And neither did Rishi. He was glowing. For once, he wasn’t invisible.

Then Friday came again.

It started like any other day. But this time, Rishi didn’t come to school.

Nor did he answer messages. Anaya even tried calling — no response.

Saturday Morning

The school WhatsApp group exploded with a single message:

"Rishi is gone. He took his life last night."

The room around Anaya spun. Her hands trembled. She read the message again.

Gone?

No.

She grabbed her bike keys and rode straight to his address — a two-room apartment near the railway line.

There were people outside. Neighbors. Family. Police.

Anaya didn’t go in. She stood frozen as someone walked past her, murmuring, “Such a quiet boy… who would’ve thought?”

The Truth

That evening, Rishi’s sister posted something on Instagram. A screenshot of Rishi’s final note, written days ago — the same day he had slipped that letter into Anaya’s scooter.

"I’ve felt invisible for so long. Like no one would notice if I just disappeared. But today, I did something I’ve never done. I thanked someone for being kind. I hope she remembers me, not as a ghost in the back of the class, but as someone who saw goodness in her. I wish I had the courage to stay. But maybe this is all I had left in me."

The Aftermath

Anaya sat at her desk, staring at the note Rishi had given her.

He had looked so normal. Calm. Like everything was okay. But inside, he was breaking.

The school held a memorial the following week. Teachers cried. Students who never spoke to Rishi posted stories calling him “a good soul.”

But Anaya knew. It wasn’t enough.

She stood on stage and said:

“He looked normal. He smiled. He even made me smile. But the end… it shocked us all.

Please, let’s not wait for someone’s final note to see them.”
