It all started with a Kiss (part 2)
The werewolf and the Hunter

Shane was up the next morning, sitting in his car outside of school. He was earlier than expected and didn’t quite feel like being social with the other students right now. He knew his friends were waiting for him inside like they always did. His locker was the usual meet up spot before they got the day started. The habit didn’t bother him as much as it used to, he had gotten used to his friends always being around him. But now he just wanted a moment alone, a moment to get his mind straight.
Why did he kiss her? He knew why, he wanted a taste.
He was honest when he told her, he had noticed her. Kilmora Tangh. First born. Top 10 in her class and lives on a farm on the opposite side of town. At first glance there was nothing special about her. She was your average teen, with average friends and average goals in life. He would have never taken interest in her if he hadn’t witnessed what she was capable of with his own eyes.
It was a random day at school, football practice was over and since he was the quarterback he had to stay later than the others. He had just sent the team home and was retrieving the football when he happened to glance over to the archery set up on the other side of the field.
Her back was to him, she wasn’t aware he was watching her. She picked up a bow, shouldered the quiver and turned towards the bullseye targets set up a few meters away. She notched an arrow, took her stance and let it fly. As expected it hit the bullseye, Shane had seen her archery skills before so he wasn’t surprised. He was about to turn away, to prepare to leave him when he saw her suddenly kick up a wooden target. Her reflexes were quick, sending arrow after arrow into the spinning piece of wood until it finally crashed into the ground. He blinked, staring at the disk, stunned, the girl was able to hit it 9 times before it landed. He never seen such accuracy before, however that is not what he noticed about it her. She still hadn’t noticed him there and she had laughed.
It was a light, airy, bell like laugh, and yet it had a certain malicious undertone to it. A certain depth that made you weary, a haunting tone that made you suspicious, that made you worry. It was an oddly, beautifully sinister laugh.
It had caused him pause, it made his own survival instincts spike to protect him. She had turned to leave and her saw a grin on her face, and for a moment Shane felt a shiver run up his spine, this girl wasn't as innocent as she seemed.
Curiosity got the best of him and he had started watching the little human. The next incident that caught his attention was a few weeks ago at the arcade. He did not see her at first; it was the little boy that looked like her that caught his attention. He walked in the arcade, holding his arm, his eyes watery as if he was trying not to cry. He saw the human immediately dash over to him, checking him for injuries and asking what was wrong. He had pointed towards some bigger kid just outside the arcade and in that moment he saw something deadly flashed on the teen’s face. He followed her outside and watched her shove the kid up against the wall and threatened him. What made him grin was when he saw her go into the kid pockets and take his cell phone, cash and tokens before smashing his head against the wall and walking away.
He had thought about that moment a lot, little Ms. Human was a bad ass. He found himself looking for her in classrooms and hallways, to get a peek of the hidden demon underneath the innocence. She was very good at keeping her temper in check. He noticed she only let her true self slip when either her friends weren’t around or her brother was in danger. She was small but he got the feeling she used that sense of vulnerability to her advantage.
There was something deadly under the surface of that innocent face. The odd thing was... he liked it. His golden eyes keenly watched the human. Following her every move as she smiled and laughed with her friends at her lunch table. Her smile was bright and sweet but she moved like a predator, you can almost sense it in her aura. Something about her was dangerous. That’s what he noticed about her. That smile. It was so soft, so contradicting to the lethalness he knew she was capable of.
Perhaps that’s when he started to become attracted to her. Knowing she was manipulating everyone she was around, knowing there was something more to her, something that only he knew. The attraction of a mystery. Even when she bumped into him, he wondered if it was intentional or if she was really that clumsy. It’s the look she gave him after he commented on that clumsiness, it was a flash of anger. A warning of what could happened if he pissed her off.
That’s why he kissed her, he wanted to taste that malevolence. And it was damn delicious. That sweet crisp flavor of strawberries with a tang of something powerful. He definitely wanted more, wanted another sample of the deadliness behind those soft lips. How entertaining would it be to find out who she truly was... then corrupt it. The wolf inside of him almost purred at the thought of dominating the little human. He got out of his car with a smirk. This could be fun.
