During the last couple of days in the family house, however, her mind was occupied with something else, namely the fact that she had to pack and also get ready for school resumption when they got back to the city. She didn't really give Clark's not calling much thought. Even though he hasn't talked to her much, he still sends her messages now and then. She didn't bother replying or reading them because she figured he was just worried about the upcoming year and not really wanting her to know the reason why. Although she understood, she wished he could tell her himself. She missed talking to him every day, even if it meant they'd be texting one another for hours.

The day came for them to journey back to the city.

As they got back to their house in the city, Caro rushed up to her room to text and call Clark. She called him first, not wanting to waste any more time. As soon as she pressed 'call', she could feel her whole body relax as the connection started connecting.

"Hey Caro," Clark answered, answering right after the second ring. "Are you home?"

"Yes, I am. I'm unpacking my things to go out later tonight," she replied with excitement in her voice. She could feel her cheeks growing warmer the minute her sentence left her lips.

"So where do you want to go? " Clark asked.

"I want to see you, Clark, I want to be with you. I miss you badly" She bit her lip and looked out of the window, biting her bottom lip nervously.

"I miss you too." he smiled softly.

She blushed, knowing he could hear the smile in her voice. "What are your plans this evening?"

"Nothing. I was planning on sleeping since I'll be waking up early tomorrow morning," he told her, sounding a little tired.

Caro chuckled. "Ok good night then," she yawned, giving a small wave towards the camera. "Bye."

He hung up and she turned off the camera, placing it aside.

The next morning, her family woke up at seven in the morning. When Caro entered the kitchen, there weren't many people there other than her mom and father. Her parents greeted her politely and her mom handed Caro a plate with breakfast in front of her. Caro thanked her mom before she ate the food and sat down next to her father in the living room. She ate in silence and kept stealing glances at the clock. Finally, after an hour or so, the doorbell rang. Her mom opened it and saw Caro's friend, Lexa, standing outside.

"Hi!" she yelled cheerfully once the door closed shut behind Lexa. She hugged Lexa tightly before pulling her inside and welcoming the rest of her family as well.

"Lexa! I've missed you so much!" Caro grinned, hugging her friend again.

"Likewise. How have you been lately?" she asked, taking a seat between Caro and her parents.

"Good. I mean really good. Everything's fine here at home." Caro nodded her head vigorously and grinned. "Everything's great."

"That's wonderful!" Lexa smiled brightly and put her hands on Caro's shoulders. "Listen, I have to leave. I'll be back sometime tomorrow, hopefully around noon. If you want me to visit again sooner then I can."

"I would love to see you again!" Caro exclaimed happily. "Thank you! I'll definitely try and remember."

"Okay, bye then." She waved goodbye and headed towards the door. "Call me, alright?"

"Of course, I will."

"See ya guys!" she shouted as she stepped out the door.

After Lexa left, everyone went their way to do whatever they were going to do before Caro's arrival. Her father decided to clean the house while Caro's mother went shopping. Caro stayed in the room, watching TV and eating some cookies her mother had given her.
