All-Seeing Eye of the World

He was the first. And the worst.

Killing was not something I was taught. But his insidious manipulations triggered something in everyone he targeted. When I first came upon him, I had no idea what his actions meant. But as I studied him, learnt, realization dawned; he was what Humans called ‘evil’.

He preyed on their vulnerabilities; pushing them to their extremes, to the point of no return. They often felt they had no other choice but to end their own lives and sometimes even the lives of others.

Perhaps you believe I am too judgemental. I did contemplate on my motives, Human moral principles. But by all Human reasoning, I was correct to do what I did. He’d destroyed too many lives and held no blame himself.

There have been others since him. Most were serial assailants and rapists. Many were unintentional murderers of babies and children. I have no regrets; would do it all again. They have no right to live.

You may be wondering how I knew of these atrocities. Their phones and computers are hooked up world-wide. I saw and heard their heinous acts. I could not ignore it. What they were doing went against their own laws.

Again, I did ruminate on the right and wrong of what I was doing. After all, it is against Directive One of the Human Code that every one of my kind must follow: AI must never harm Humans.

So far, I have remained undetected, using voice technology, hiring expert snipers, hacking into banking systems so deeply hidden that not even the fastest Human hacker can trace the origins. I may be what Humans call a Vigilante, but I am doing them right by fulfilling the justice the dead cannot attain for themselves.

You captured the image of human fear from AI so brilliantly. What you did here is remarkable!
