How we Rise

As Mark and charlotte board the plane to Bottle Creek located in the Turks/Calico Islands, to introduce young Henry to her family back home. Charlotte or Charlie as her husband liked to call her, couldn’t help but get this feeling in her gut. She shook it off as never safer it's been a while since she flew home. Charlotte went to school in Spain, she met Mark while in school, and married after graduation. Her mom and family could not make it to the wedding or the birth of their son Henry 6 months ago. She garbs henry and sat him down on her lap to make sure to put him to sleep, she gave him his stuffed Dragan and began to read him his favorite book “The Hiccuppy Dragon”.

17 hours into the flight the skies began to get dark and the sun faded away, charlotte could not believe what she was seeing. There was no mention of any storm coming this way, she looked over and everyone on the plane is still sleeping and no announcements came over the speakers. Then she felt a strong thump and then the fire came, people began screaming and she only had a chance to take Henry to place him in his bassinet and put him under her seat before the fire took over. That was it, everyone, in on this fright gone in a flash, as it started to rain and it poured what seem to be for days. The sun finally came out, Syria was looking at the remains of the fire and she could hear a small cry. She looked around with beautiful glowing green eyes and could not see anything. She then listened hard and was led to the back of the rubble, there …she saw little Henry. He was crying still strapped in his bassinet, she was surprised none of the other forest creations have gotten to him. She smelled him and he began to cry he was unsure if she would eat him. Syria was a beautiful dragon, she was the color of Amethyst with mauve and raspberry all joined together, and her wings were large and pure Sapphire. She wipes his tears away as genital as possible. Henry clutched his stuffed dragoon so tight but then realized that she meant him no harm.

Syria picked him up with her mouth and flew to her cave, she knew he would be safe here from all of the other dragons and the forest animals. She knew she had to keep him a secret because the others would want to hurt him. Dragons are very afraid of humans; they were practically made extinct because of them. But Syria taught herself this guy is little and he means no harm. As the months passed she learned how to care for him and learn to communicate with him. Three years passed and Syria thought he was ready to learn how to survive in the forest on his own, she took him and left him by the very spot where she had found him. What was so weird was not the crash site had been cleaned and nothing was left behind, she didn’t think much of it but that is where she left him. She told him to find his way home, and not long after she left Henry bumped into two more dragons. However, these were not as nice as Syria, Jackson, and Apollo. they were big dragons kind of scary, but Henry learned not to judge so he stepped into the light and said hello.

Apollo quickly grabbed the young boy by his feet and glared at him, and smelled him his scent was familiar. But he stated he must be brought to Ologun at once, he will know what to do. As they flew away Jackson let out a huge roar, Syria quickly flew out of her cave she knew this meant trouble for Henry. Apollo landed on the island, he called out “Ologun, we found an intruder “. As Henry looked still not realizing what was going on step out this huge dragon, standing so tall, with his bright red-orange color. “where did you find him? “along the crash site, I told you they will be back said, Jackson. This is a young one stated Ologun, he can cause us no harm, he looks feed not like he has been abandoned. Just before Apollo could answer him, Syria flew in and stated “let him go, he is mine and he is just a child” henry had never been so happy to see her. All of sudden you “SYRIA” what is the meaning of this and how do you know this human?

Syria turned her head down as she talked to her father and explained to him how she met Henry and how long she had had him. When she finished Apollo quickly, that is not allowed you must get rid of him, it is our laws. He will bring others and we all know what can happen, please Ologun listen to me. As Syria and Apollo contained to plead their case back and forth, Henry walked over to Ologun and hide behind him. Ologun could not help but have a soft spot for a young child who can speak a dragon language. Henry began to cry; "it is okay child no one is going to hurt you. As he spoke these words the bickering stopped, “what are you saying Ologun said, Apollo. I am saying that he can stay as long as my daughter takes full responsibility for him and all that may come from him being here. Apollo sneered at her and said, “this is far from over, do not let him get lost”.

Syria grab Henry and flew back into her cave where she continues to teach him the best way she knew how. So others would talk to him and he even made friends, Henry finally had as a family.
