Darren woke up later than usual. He had overslept and had a big day today. He moaned at himself and grudgingly got up. Next he brushed his teeth, then shaved, then went to the toilet. He had slept in his underwear for two days in a row.

He went over and picked up his beloved pocket watch.

"Morning Castel 3000, what is the agenda for today?".

The pocket watch blurted out the news on his phone. It was mostly boring and irrelevant to his life. However Darren tried to remember the main points.

There had been a series of corruption scandals in the run up to the Brisbane Olmypics. King Charles was going to abdicate.

Once that was over, He asked Castel the time as he was getting late.

"The time right now, here in London, is 09.13 am on the 31st October 2031" boomed his pocket watch.

"Thank you. Any reminders today?" he asked his watch.

"Remember to pick up your Halloween costume" it replied.

He paused for a minute. The most common Halloween costume last year had been a bikini or Bermuda shorts. He was going as a yeti which would be horrible in this heat, unless he was wrong.

"Castel what does the BBC say about today's temperature?" Darren asked apprehensively.

Castel parroted "The BBC say it will be 26 degrees Celsius. It is predicting an ongoing real Hoctober, just like last year".
