The dimly lit alleyway didn't taunt or invite her to get her blood drained by a vampire with a penance for stereotypical vampire movie bullshit.
Alas, her client preferred dramatic and goth vampire bullshit.
He leaned against a dumpster, looking at her intensely. His red glowing eyes gave her a onceover.
"Don't look at me like that, I was with Jisung. I just need one more appointment and Hannah's bills are covered."
He nodded and she handed him my phone. He clicked on her screen and then she heard a ping. The same one that beeped with Jisung at the club a few days ago.
"He's not wrong," he said. She gave him a hard stare, one that said she didn't want to talk about that.
"How is she?" He spoke. No matter how many times he does this, it still gave her chills.
"She's surviving but barely. The treatment is keeping her alive."
"You could always ask one of us to turn her."
One of them. Jisung or Chris. Other vampires that I was close too. Any person with the capacity to turn another person into the undead.
Into a vampire.
"You know how I feel about that."
"I also know you go home weak and sometimes pass out from the loss of blood, Aria. If she becomes one of us, you wouldn't have financial problems." He retorted.
"She's my responsibility, Chris. If she gets turned, whoever turns her needs to check up on her. I don't want to feel like a burden."
"Everything would be easier."
"Does it look like I care, Bang? All I care is paying her medical bills. Now, are we going to do this or not?" I practically yelled.
He came out of the shadows and smirked. He motioned with his head for me to go to him and she rolled my eyes. She's had it with the dramatic flair.
He wore all black with the exception of his hair, which was silver. He was handsome, with a strong jawline, pale skin and beautiful brown eyes.
"Here." He held put a white envelope and he grabbed it.
"You're supposed to give me the other half when the job's done." He shrugged and turned to the floor.
Is she seeing this correctly? Did she just make gothic, dark Chris shy?
"Is this pity money? I need to do my job."
"No. I just don't feel like feeding." He replied.
"You could've texted me instead of making me come over."
"Would you just take the money? I know how important this is for you." She sighed and ran a hand though her hair.
"Fine. I'll see you later." She turned around and then she felt a hand on her wrist.
"Wait." He said softly. She turned to him, and he walked closer to her.
"I want to do something. Will you let me?" His eyes seemed to sparkle. Like vampire from a cliché romance novel sparkle.
He was a nice man. Kind, considerate of my feelings. Unlike most vampires. Him and Jisung were her only vampiric clients.
I nodded and he leaned towards her. He stopped inches from her face and Aria felt her cheeks go red. He closed the gap between us as he kissed her.
