Heavely Seas Epilogue
Life after Heavenly Seas

The world wanted to point fingers. Was it the greedy CEOs more interested in filling their pockets? Was it illicit drugs? Some wondered if the ship had been hijacked by terrorist organisations? Why did Elodie kill Calvin? And why did it take so long for Apollo to be found, when he was right under their noses? Was Elodie a villain, or a victim of circumstance? One coroner theorised that the guilt from Elodie’s affair with Elaine, along with her husband’s quest for vengeance, had driven Elodie into insanity
The incident of Heavenly Seas was written off as gross negligence. The deaths in the Figgs family took the most attention. Witness statements were taken. For the families of missing loved ones, the thirst for justice and answers would remain unfulfilled. All that remained were theories and products of fantasy. Neither Elodie nor the Heavenly Seas were found. After months of investigations, divers could only find one wine glass. Inside was a severed toe. DNA tests confirmed it belonged to Captain Mortville.
Elaine’s reunion with Apollo was brief. She was tried for Elodie’s murder, but the evidence was circumstantial. The court used her published blogs as proof of insanity. As they were unable to prosecute her for murder, she was sectioned instead.
After Heath’s death was made public, Apollo legally changed his name to Apollo Heath Figgs. Some considered it strange, but to him it made perfect sense. He did it to honour the friend he lost and the two men he called his brothers.
With the help of the local community, Apollo had turned Figgs Manor Farm into an animal sanctuary. Sook-Jo moved in with baby Josephine and raised her as her own. The lack of death meant that Josephine aged forward.
Apollo and Sook-Jo were never seen without their jumpers. As crazy as it sounded, the jumpers saved their life. “Josephine, you know when you said all your friends are dead?” Apollo asked.
“Yes, it’s sad,” Josephine replied.
“Well, they’re not all dead,” he said. “You’ve still got us. And when you go to school, you’ll make lots of new friends. You looked after us!” Apollo patted Josephine’s head. “Now it’s our turn to look after you.”
