What was the ancient evil that infected Corey Cunningham and caused him to go psycho? It was an ancient demon known as Belial. It was the thing known as The Shape. Michael was The Shape. That was what everyone thought. Michael was the shape to Haddonfield. Belial was Michael’s Shape. He was the entity that showed himself to Michael when Karen interrupted him. It was the silent alarm waiting to trigger Michael.
Michael was reborn after the events of Halloween Ends. He looked like Michael. He even had the injured eye and the sewing needle wound Laurie had given him back in 1978. Alyson noticed him first.
“Grandmother,” Alyson whispered. “Who’s that?” Laurie looked back at the same face she saw back in 1978.
“You’re dead,” Laurie exclaimed. We killed you. He vanished before their very eyes.
“How did he do that Alyson asked.
“Because he’s not Michael; he’s The Shape,” Laurie stated. The Shape was a force of nature; he was more concept than man. She closed her eyes and remembered Michael vanishing as she stared out her window in 1978.
They checked for Michael everywhere. Laurie gasped when she stared at her desk.
“The mask is gone,” Laurie muttered.
“How is this happening?” Alyson asked.
“Michael was possessed by a boogey,” she replied. Like The Boogeyman,” Laurie said trying to make Alyson understand.
“I see,” she said. Then the lights went out!
“Shit,” Laurie said. She found a match and lit a candle. She illuminated the white mask long enough before seeing him vanish. Both women hugged each other tight.
Sondra sat quietly in her favorite chair. Michael had snuck up behind her and he slit her throat. In walked her bitchy nurse. Michael looked over and saw the nurse. She was the cunt that blamed Laurie for Michael’s escape. He tilted his head while staring at the frizzy haired cunt. She was ugly as the day is long; she looked like a black clown. The Shape grabbed her big ugly face and crunched her skull until her eyeballs bled. He stabbed through her glasses. Glass shattered; blood and glass ran down her face as Michael continued his rampage. Her mouth…stabbed. Her chest…stabbed. He stood over the body and looked down at her. Next Michael exited.
Sheriff Barker arrived at Laurie and Alyson’s house. He is a black cowboy, quite the contradiction. He wrote down the account of what happened.
“I doubt it was Michael,” he said quietly. Laurie rubbed her forehead. A big vein popped out in the middle of it.
“Don’t bury your head in the sand you fucking moron!” Laurie shouted.
“Excuse me?” Sheriff Barker said. Alyson’s eyes went as wide as saucers. She gently wedged herself between the Sheriff and Laurie.
“Grandmother, you need to calm down,” Alyson said. Laurie let out a deep sigh.
“You didn’t take Frank seriously in 2018 and look what happened,” she said. Barker looked at Laurie as if he wanted to say something and then looked down awkwardly down at his own feet.
“I know I fucked up,” Sheriff Barker said.
Deputy Lane, a young dashing blonde man approached.
“There was an incident next door. You better come check it out. Sheriff Barker looked at Laurie and Alyson.
“Stay here,” he said. Barker and Lane left.
“Can we just leave this town?” Alyson asked. Laurie nodded. The girls grabbed their coats and drove to Russellville, away from Haddonfield, and away from its’ curse: The Boogeyman.
Photos snapped and breathing could be heard as sheriff Barker and Deputy Lane observed the crime scene. It was the rasping breath of The Shape.
“Behind you,” Deputy Lane said. He turned around in time to catch a knife in the eye. Deputy Lane fired six shots into Michael. He fell to the floor and faked being dead. The Deputy slapped the cuffs on him.
“Get up Michael,” Deputy Lane said. The Shape sat up. He took The Shape to jail. The Judge sentenced him to death. No asylum. No rehab. Just kill the butcher of Haddonfield.
