In the middle of an ancient and green forest, there's a special location. The trees there think and feel things—they're not only regular trees. They speak to each other in a way only trees get, and they move to the rhythm of the wind. There lives a person everyone calls the hooded man—no one knows much about him except that he's been looking out for the forest forever.
People tell stories that the hooded man used to be this great wizard who could make the weather do whatever he wanted. He was a servant to Mother Nature.
He was right at home in the forest with the trees and animals, and he used his spells to keep everything in nature balanced--but then, something terrible happened that could have destroyed the whole forest and everyone in it. The hooded man realized he couldn't beat it by himself, so he did something huge—he gave up all his magic power to become a part of the forest.
Ever since that happened, the hooded man has hung around the woods. When he walks, you can't even hear his footsteps, and you hardly ever see him: some believe he could still do magic if he wanted to--but he keeps a low profile to not get noticed by the nasty phenomena that tried to ruin the forest previously. The informed trees in the grove count on the individual with the hood to keep them safe. He's their protector and friend, and in return, they give him a location to stay and food: the forest critters think he's great too because, thanks to him, their woodland community is still a safe location.
There's a magical location where shadows move independently, and you can always hear whispering. The grove whispers, but nature determines who may listen.
The forest is full of secrets and magic items. Once, some bold people got drawn into the woods, looking for a plant they heard could cure many diseases. It was supposed to be in the middle of the woods—but the individual with the hood who looks out for the forest doesn't like strangers popping by or trampling through the forest, disturbing the forest spirits.
People were impressed by the forest's good looks, but were too focused on wanting more items, to see, that they weren't supposed to be there. It was a unique location that was not meant for everyone.
Little did these brave souls know that the forest they were venturing into was guarded by a mysterious hooded figure - the protector of the sacred forest. And as fate would have it, they were about to cross his path and experience his wrath!
When they kept going deeper to find that spectacular plant that could make them rich, the trees were "Nuh-uh, you aren't coming through," trying to stop them with twigs and branches--but no, they didn't listen, kept moving, even though the woods were getting incredibly creepy and dark, like it was trying to say, "maybe you should leave. "
Out of nowhere, this person appeared wearing an enormous old cloak and looking upset, his eyes glittery. They were saying, "You must leave this location and don't come back." The surrounding trees echoed what the hooded man's eyes had stated. But did they listen?
No. They were focused on whether they could get that plant; we must have it, no matter what. Greed and desire are an unwittingly strange couple.
A person who knew about all the harmful things in these woods tried to get everyone to leave to avoid getting hurt. When they got to the middle of the woods, the person in a hood reappeared, and his darkened eyes were shining extremely bright. He told them in an intense way they had to get out of the woods--but they didn't take him seriously and thought he was a random hermit or quite possibly a wandering vagabond or a fellow treasure hunter. They quickly tried to take him on, not realizing he still had plenty of magic.
With a massive blast of wind, he knocked them down and pushed them right back to the edge of the woods--but the group wasn't ready to quit - they were sure the hermit individual was keeping a magic plant that could heal anything, and they wanted it for themselves. So they got brave, ignored all the creepy voices and abnormal noises, and plunged through the thick bushes. After a long search, they found a clearing with the particular plant they sought. They were so happy that they started to grab as many plants as they could carry, not even remembering the hermit's warning--but by then, it was already too late.
Right after they picked the first plant from the ground, the entire woods started to shimmy and shake! The ground beneath everyone rumbled severely. Frightened for what would happen next, the group of plant hunters stood gripped with fear.
Then, out of nowhere, a person with a cloak and hood shouted, "You people woke up the old protectors of this forest. Get ready to see what happens next." Boom! The ground cracked open with a loud noise, and these vast things that looked like trees but were not trees came out.
Their eyes were troubled and glowing. Now the crew gets it—the forest is much stronger than they thought because of what they did. They're wondering whether they made a massive mistake by being greedy. "We have never seen anything like it," said the group leader later.
What happens in the grove - stays in the grove. Or does it?
From that day on, the forest became known as the enchanted woodland grove, a place of wonder and magic that was off-limits to dangerous trespassing humans. The hooded man continued to roam the forest in his cloak. His presence was still elusive, but all who entered could feel his protective aura. And the sentient trees whispered tales of his bravery and selflessness, spreading his legend throughout the land.
The creatures of the forest, both big and small, came to adore the hooded man. They'd often leave gifts of sweet delicious berries and herbal flowers at the base of his favorite tree, symbolizing their warm appreciation and deep admiration. The hooded man would smile and gently nod, his dark eyes twinkling with contentment and a sense of belonging. He knew he had found his true purpose – to protect and care for the enchanted grove and all who resided within its magical borders and called the woodland grove home.
