“I’m going out, Dad!”
My little sister Ruth raised her eyes to the heavens. She’d heard it all before.
“Not like that you ain’t! Bright purple tie the size of a kipper. Trousers baggy enough for Coco the Clown and hair halfway down to your arse?”
“Aw, come on Dad…”
“At least comb yer ‘air before you go out...”
At this, Dad reached into his pocket then slapped some coins into my hand.
“… and no sneaking into the King’s Head for a crafty one!”
Ruth looked up as I left: “Groovy baby!”

It’s like a snapshot of family life that’s both funny and warm.
I didn't fully get the context but it seemed funny to me hahahaha
Why does this sound so familiar, lol?
Ahh, the life of teens and their parents. Memories, we all have and share and at times do not want to remember. Good job.
