Alenor's phone rang and it was her mother.
"Yes, Mother, I will be there soon," she said, hanging up and looking at Nella. "Let's go. You shouldn't stay here–with them around."

The girls grabbed their bags, leaving their uneaten food on the table. Mindy crossed her arms as her scoff was drowned out by the murmurs of the onlookers. Alenor’s unbothered demeanor left Mindy fuming, as her plan to embarrass her was again foiled.

As they stepped outside, the sun bathed the campus in a bright glow. Alenor turned to Nella with a soft smile.

"Hey, I just remembered—I need to stop by the library to grab a book before heading home. You go on ahead, and I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?"

Nella raised an eyebrow. "You? Picking up a book of your own free will? That’s new," she teased but shrugged. "Alright, see you later!" She waved and walked off toward the student faculty building, but as she reached the corner, something caught her eye.

A sleek Rolls-Royce Phantom. Its glossy midnight-black finish reflecting the sunlight, rolled up to the curb. The car’s signature starlit interior shimmered faintly through the tinted windows. It was the kind of vehicle only seen in movies or parked outside luxurious galas, but certainly not outside a college campus.

Nella slowed her steps, watching in stunned silence as a uniformed chauffeur in pristine white gloves stepped out, walked to the rear passenger door, and—like something out of a royal procession—gracefully swung it open.

To her utter shock, Alenor walked up to the car, her posture composed as if this were completely normal, and slid into its plush leather seat without hesitation.

Nella blinked. No way.

She had known Alenor for three years now—quiet, introverted, straightforward Alenor. The same Alenor who always dismissed their city’s wealth-obsessed culture. And yet, here she was, being driven away in a car that even Mindy Arison’s family would envy. Nella didn't believe Alenor was poor, but she certainly never imagined her being filthy rich.

The car pulled off smoothly, gliding down the road like a phantom in the wind, leaving Nella standing there, her mind racing with questions.
