Full of Self-Esteem
A fresh doctor must face his first surgery.
A new black doctor named Taliko Kostner arrived on the floor. He had to keep his eyes focused on the phone in his hand. He sent a message to his boss.
“You’ve got this,” she said.
He smirked. He then put away his phone and washed up his hands and forearms. The soap and water reassured him as well. As his first surgery he had felt jittery and even anxious. In his mind he had a bank account full of self-esteem but he still struggled with writing the check of confidence. In the operating room, he knew what to do.
