Frozen Reflections
Snow Micro Challenge
In the desolate expanse of Lapland's snowy fields, horror writer Saga Knight awoke to an eerie reality. The chill clawed through her bones as she rose from the frozen ground, finding herself amidst a landscape she'd once merely conjured on the page.
But something was wrong. The air hung thick with unease. As she stumbled forward, crimson stains spoiled the pristine snow, a stark contrast against the purity of the landscape. Panic clawed at her chest, a premonition of horror seeping into her senses.
Following the grisly trail, she stumbled upon a dying man—a stranger she felt like she'd met before, whose life seeped into the icy bed beneath.
The man's eyes met Saga's, and in a whisper laden with despair, he asked, "Why do you writers have to be so heartless? Why make your characters suffer? And why does it have to be snowing? It's so cold."
Dread tightened Saga's gut. The questions echoed in her mind, unraveling the boarder between fiction and reality. Was she the puppet master behind this horrible scene? Did the blood staining the snow originate from her own hands?
As fear constricted her throat, the dying man's breaths faded into the frigid air. Saga, haunted by the implications of her own imagination, questioned the price of her words—the shadows they cast, the suffering they created.
In the heart of Lapland's icy embrace, the boundary between creator and creation blurred, leaving Saga lost in the chilling realm of her own making.
Maybe she deserved it?
