Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Emily who loved to play with her toy car. She would push it across the floor and watch it zoom around, imagining herself driving a real car.

One day, Emily's dad decided to take her to the park so she could race her toy car down the hill. Excitedly, Emily ran to grab her car and followed her dad to the park.

As soon as they arrived, Emily set her toy car down on the top of the hill and watched as it started to roll down. However, the car didn't go very far before it came to a stop.

Confused, Emily tried again, but the car still wouldn't move very far. Her dad noticed her frustration and explained that the grass on the hill was causing friction, which made it harder for the car to move.

Emily was determined to make her car go faster, so she asked her dad for some help. Together, they found a smooth surface for the car to roll on, and Emily was amazed at how fast it went.

From that day on, Emily made sure to find smooth surfaces to race her car on, and she learned that friction could both help and hinder her in her adventures.
