Life flashed before his eyes. He felt panic radiate through his body as his father threw him into the pool. Panic became terror as arms and legs flailed in the cold water.But all of that faded when he looked up at his father's grin.
"I knew you could do it, Danny."
Then Danny's body went still, and Jasper ejected and took his blood-soaked blade out of Danny's chest. A moment ago, Japsper was loved, and now he felt utterly alone But, Japser knew he would be loved again tomorrow when his boss's son slipped out for a secret smoke break.
