Fishing at Peace Lake

In a quiet little village, hidden behind green hills, there is a lake known as Lake of Peace. This lake is a favorite place for villagers and tourists to unwind, enjoy the beauty of nature, and fish. The clear water and shady trees around it give an unparalleled sense of tranquility.

One sunny morning, Arif, a young villager who loves fishing, decides to go to Lake Damai. With his fishing gear prepared since the evening, he set off in high spirits. There, Arif met Pak Hasan, an old fisherman who was very experienced. Pak Hasan often gives fishing tips and tricks to Arif.

"Good morning, Mr. Hasan!" greeted Arif excitedly. "This morning I want to try fishing in a new place, maybe near that big tree."

"Good morning, Arif," Mr. Hasan replied with a smile. "It's a great place, but remember, patience is the key to fishing."

Arif nodded and immediately headed for the place that Mr. Hasan pointed out. He prepared his hook, set the bait, and threw his fishing rod into the water. The breeze blew gently, making the atmosphere even more comfortable. While waiting for the fish to grab the bait, Arif enjoyed the surrounding scenery and listened to the birdsong.

Soon, Arif felt a pull on his hook. Cautiously, he began to pull his fishing rod. It turned out that a large tilapia fish was caught by him. "Awesome! This is my biggest catch," Arif shouted happily. He felt very proud and satisfied with the results of his fishing.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the lake, a tourist named Lili also tried her luck in fishing. Lili is a city girl who is fishing for the first time. He had a little trouble managing his fishing rod, but was not discouraged. Seeing Lili who was struggling, Mr. Hasan approached her and offered to help.

"Dik, do you need help?" asked Mr. Hasan kindly.

"Oh, thank you, sir. I'm new to this," Lili replied shyly.

Mr. Hasan helped Lili organize her fishing rod and gave some tips. Shortly after, Lili managed to catch her first fish. He was very happy and thanked Mr. Hasan.

A few months later, Arif and Lili keep their promise to return to Lake of Peace. This time, they brought some friends to share the wonderful experience they had had in the lake.

That morning, fresh air greeted their arrival. The small group consisted of Arif, Lili, and three of their friends: Budi, a nature lover; Siti, an elementary school teacher who loves to read; and Rina, an amateur photographer. They plan to fish, picnic, and enjoy nature.

Upon arrival by the lake, they immediately looked for a comfortable place. While preparing fishing gear, Siti and Rina arranged a place for a picnic, while Budi was busy looking for the best angles to take pictures.

Mr. Hasan, who happened to be nearby, greeted them with a warm smile. "Boy, it seems that you guys brought more friends this time. Welcome back to the Lake of Peace," he greeted.

"Thank you, Mr. Hasan. We want our friends to have a wonderful experience like we did before," Arif replied.

After everything was ready, they started fishing. Lili, who is getting more and more proficient, helps Siti and Rina prepare their fishing rods. Meanwhile, Arif and Budi chose a rather quiet place at the end of the lake, where shady trees provide a comfortable shade.

The day went very pleasantly. Everyone managed to catch fish, although not all of them were as big as Arif's catch on previous visits. They laughed together, shared stories, and enjoyed the calm atmosphere of Lake Damai.

Rina took many photos, capturing their moments together and the beauty of the surrounding nature. The photos became fond memories that they kept. Siti, who brought several story books, had time to read a short story to her friends, adding warmth to their picnic atmosphere.

In the afternoon, when the sun began to set, they all sat together by the lake, enjoying the beauty of the twilight sky reflecting on the surface of the water. The colours of the sky fade slowly, with the birds returning to their nests, creating a mesmerizing scene.

Pak Hasan came to them, bringing some fresh fruit from his garden. "This is for you, as a sign of gratitude for maintaining the beauty of Lake Damai," he said as he handed over a small basket filled with fruit.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Hasan. Peace Lake is indeed a very special place," Lili said sincerely.

"This lake has become more beautiful because of you. Keep coming back, and invite more people to feel peace here," replied Mr. Hasan.

A few weeks after their last visit, Arif got the idea to create an annual event at Lake Damai involving all villagers and tourists. He discussed with his friends, and they all agreed that such an event would bring great benefits, not only to strengthen social relations, but also to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.

Arif, Lili, Budi, Siti, and Rina began planning the event with enthusiasm. They agreed to name the event the "Peace Lake Festival". The festival will include various activities such as fishing competitions, family picnics, traditional food bazaars, art performances, and nature photo exhibitions. Rina will be in charge of a photo exhibition, displaying works taken during their visit to the lake.

After the plan was neatly arranged, they brought the idea to Pak Hasan and the village head, Pak Joko. Both welcomed the idea enthusiastically and offered to help make it a reality. With the support of the villagers, preparations for the festival went smoothly.

Traditional food bazaar stalls began operations, serving a variety of delicious dishes such as soto, nasi liwet, and traditional pastries.

The fishing competition became the center of attention, with participants from various walks of life, both children, teenagers, and adults. Arif and Pak Hasan became the judges of the competition, monitoring each participant closely. This competition is not only about who gets the biggest fish, but also who can maintain the cleanliness and beauty of the surrounding environment.

Meanwhile, Siti and several teachers from a local elementary school held a storytelling session for the children. The stories are not only entertaining, but also educational about the importance of protecting nature and the environment.

In another corner, Rina proudly presents her photo exhibition. Photos of the beauty of Lake of Peace and precious moments captured on camera attracted the attention of many people. Some photos were even sold, and the proceeds will be donated to lake conservation.

Arif proudly announced that the winner was a 10-year-old boy named Dimas, who managed to catch a large tilapia while maintaining the cleanliness of his surroundings. Dimas accepted his gift with a big smile, making everyone smile proudly.

The Peace Lake Festival concludes with a bonfire and singing. Under the star-studded night sky, everyone gathered around, shared stories, and laughed together. Arif and his friends were very happy to see how successful this event was.
