In this short story, I’d like to bring a new writing contest to your attention offered by Vocal Media. If you don’t know about this platform, I will introduce it briefly after giving you essential information about this contest.

About the New Fiction Writing Challenge

The prompt for this writing challenge is “Write a fiction story about an unlikely pair that meets on a tropical island.”

Mandatory Requirements for Eligibility

As you might know, Vocal Media accepts stories with at least 600 words. So, the first requirement is meeting this requirement. Maximum words for your story can be up to 4000 words.

You need to submit your story by February 03, 2023 3:59 PM AEDT.

Your story must adhere to Vocal’s community guidelines. Here is the link to the official rule.

You also need to be Vocal+ members to be eligible for this contest. If you are not a member you might use my referral link to join. It will not cost you extra.

This contest is open to those who are older than 13.

In addition, you must be living in a country supporting Stripe, as Vocal use this service for payment to the writers.

The Prizes

The first winner will get $1,000.

The second winner will get $250.

And the third ten winners will get $25 per person.

A Brief Background to My Recent Experience with Vocal Media

A few months ago, I joined Vocal Media as a paid member and enjoyed the platform very much. Vocal Media gave me a $10 bonus for joining the Vocal+ program, paying an annual fee. In addition, they gave me a 10% discount for paying annually.

In my first month, I submitted ten posts and received a $10 bonus. In my third month, after publishing 50 stories, they offered me a $50 bonus. In addition, I got some tips. However, Vocal does not pay after 50 stories. So there will be no bonus.

But earning income from stories on Vocal Media looks challenging unless you have a big audience in social media or an extensive mailing list. Therefore, you need to take responsibility for promoting your stories.
