We're ashore! The excitement of being rescued gave him some strength, and he climbed shakily off the floating island and stepped into the shallow water that reached his knees, and came ashore. On the golden sand, there was a bison carcass, with only skin and white bones, left over from the tiger a few days ago, and emitting a foul smell. He went over and dispersed the swarm of green-headed flies that were buzzing on the bison's skin, and chewed and swallowed his fill. Then, with a wobbly step, it burst into the dense forest.

On the soft golden sand, a clear line of wolf's footprints was left, but it was soon washed away by the tide.

Baisha was very sick but finally survived. The wolf's survival ability is extremely strong. It did not know that it had drifted to Xishuangbanna, and it did not understand the concept of human geography. It only felt that the land it was living in now was a completely different world from the distant foothills of Rizhuka Mountain. Here it is closer to the sun. There is no mountain snow here, no curved snowline. It is impossible to walk on the beach at noon here, it is as hot as stepping on fire. Here the plants grow like crazy, the banana trees grow half a foot high in a day; rabbits, pheasants, voles ...... all kinds of animals multiply much faster than they die. There is no hunger here, and there is no cold. It can eat as much as it wants, whenever it wants.

It's a different story in the foothills of the Rithuka Mountains. The climate there is cold and food is scarce, especially in winter, when snow covers the entire foothills and many animals hibernate, and sometimes they cannot find anything to feed themselves for several days in a row. At that time, if an old wolf in the pack died of illness, or if someone was killed by a hunter's lead bullet, the hungry wolves would swarm and snatch the carcasses of their companions. There is nothing immoral about it, since it is dead anyway, instead of abandoning it in the snow and giving it to the snow leopard for dinner, it is better to enjoy it at home. To wolves, morality is the law of the jungle that the weak are stronger than the strong. Survival competition is indeed harsh.

People are forced out. The wolf is also forced out.

Nevertheless, it prefers life in the foothills of Rithuka Mountain. Although the taste of hunger is not pleasant, it is forced to sharpen its claws, harden its bones, move more swiftly, bite more brutally, and behave more bravely in competition with fierce animals to obtain limited food. Here simply effortlessly can hunt food, although no longer taste the belly against the spine of hunger, it soon felt their bones in softening, muscle relaxation, even the sense of hearing and smell are degraded, all day in a state of laziness and lethargy.

The year-round snow at the foot of Rizhuka Mountain is certainly terrible, and sometimes a snowstorm makes the wolves huddle together at night, warming each other with their body heat and wailing in the snow-capped fields. However, the cold forces the wolves to run fast and hard, and their blood boils and the fire of life burns to resist the severe cold of nature. The wolves are the elite of snow and ice, and the soft snowflakes rub the wolf fur all over the body to make it thick and shiny, like a layer of colorful glaze. Now the land is steaming hot all day long, like living in a big furnace. The wolf has no sweat glands, so it can only open its mouth wide and stretch out its tongue to dissipate heat. The hot climate makes it lazy and slow in its movements, and its compact wolf fur is loosened and loses its luster. It was worried that if it continued like this for a long time, it would degenerate into a dog.

In ancient times, wolves and dogs were the same family, but later, human beings domesticated some wolves into dogs through sunlight and fire, and human warmth was comparable to sunlight; sunlight and fire, and human warmth would melt the cold heart of wolves and soften their iron hard will; sunlight and fire, and human warmth The tail of a dog is baked soft and bent and can be rolled up like a daisy, which facilitates the dog to wag its tail and beg for mercy from human beings.

The wolf's tail is always upright.

To avoid ending up like a dog, it finds a dark and damp cave on a shady cliff. During the day, it hides in the cave and sleeps, and only comes out to feed when the sun sets.

The most difficult thing to endure is solitude. The climate can gradually adapt, but loneliness can not be overcome. After recovering from the illness, Baisha began to look for her companion. For several days in a row, she went around dozens of high mountains and all the deep turnips around the cave but found no trace of wolves. The cows and horses grazing on the hillside and the ducks and geese playing in the water ponds mistook her for a dog and neither panicked nor ran away when they saw her. One evening when it passed by the water field next to the cottage, it ran into a group of people who not only didn't shoo it to beat it but also exclaimed, "Whose dog is so beautiful?"

Indeed, there have never been wolves in Xishuangbanna.

It could not understand why there were no wolves in this rich land. Maybe it is because it is afraid of the sun. The sun can be conquered, it thought. In the head of man, this world and the universe are man's; in the eyes of wolves, this world and the universe are wolves'; wolves should conquer everything and rule everything.

Unfortunately, it is the only wolf in this fiery land.

It is too lonely.
